[LINUX] ubuntu 9-->10.04: 'random' colors show instead of video
#1
Hello,

Since I upgraded to ubuntu 10.04 xbmc doesnt play videos anymore as it used to... Instead of showing a certain video that it played fine before the upgrade, it now shows 1 full screen color per frame or every few frames. Vlc and mplayer play these files without problems.

I uninstalled xbmc and reinstalled but this didnt fix anything. I also removed+reactivated the proprietary ati driver. After removal xbmc did play the video files, but of course at lowres. After reactivation of the driver the same problem occurred. The card is an hd3200 onboard.

Starting xbmc in console only gives usual problems related to audio.

What is there to try next?

Set render method to basic shaders(arb).

Great. Worked :-) Thanks

Is it a kernel change that caused this or something?
