Launch only as root

Hello!
I am on Ubuntu 10.4 x64 and I installed Camelot as an app from the ppa.
Each time I run with the icon it I get a crashlog pasted here.

Strange thing is when I sudo it or launch it after "sudo -s" it runs fine via the terminal.

Any Idea where this could come from?

I do not have a great deal of experience with Linux but I will do my best to provide you with any info you may require (credit card # excluded Wink).

Thanks for reading.

you probably sudo'd it on accident the first time you ran it or something stupid like that. rm ~/.xbmc -r then run WITHOUT sudo. NEVER again run with sudo.

OK thanks for the tip Smile
I'll try that and let you know the outcome.
I just hope I can backup/restore my databases without problem...
Anyway I will let you know.

if you need those, you can replace the rm -r with chown <username>:users

Hi Spiff!

Thank you so much for pointing me to the right direction Smile

I backed up my databases and even copied the full userdata directory before removing XBMC.
First through the add/remove application from Ubuntu then I noticed the .xbmc was still there and "rm -r" it.

Then I reinstalled XBMC from the "add/remove application" and it launched just fine from the icon as non root user.
After that I copied back the userdata folder and everything was as before except that now I can run it as a normal user.

Thanks again for your help!
Much appreciated Smile
