XBMC on Ubuntu crashes when navigating to movies
#1
Hey,
I am new to the xbmc forums. I have searched the forums looking for symptoms similar to mine, and errors that match my debug logs - so far I have had no luck.

If anyone is able to help me out and point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

Details:

Linux Distribution and Version: Ubuntu Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic (lsbrelease -a) up to date as of 26 Jun 2010.
Architecture: i686 (uname -m)
Install Method: PPA
SVN Revision (See below.)
Detailed Instructions to Reproduce the Problem (The more specific the better.):
I am unsure of exactly how to reproduce the problem, but it mostly occurs when navigating through directories (under Video -> Files unsure if it happens else where as I don't use other menus) and I select a movie (to play it) XBMC freezes and won't respond.

We mostly use a remote (MCE remote) to interact with xbmc if that has any bearing on the problem.

If any more info is needed or would be helpful let me know.
Cheers

Bump.

Is there any other information I can provide that will help?

Try turning off the metadata extraction (settings->video->library)
