Xbox 360 case + HTPC
#1
Hello XBMCers,

Two weeks ago I tried XBMC for the first time and I love it! I would like to build myself a HTPC, but not just a normal one. As I have a broken Xbox 360 lying around I would like to build my HTPC in the Xbox 360 case. I found the following blog which already successfully accomplished this. I want to use my Xbox 360 HTPC only for streaming 1080P content from my computer which has 2 TB movies stored. I was thinking of the following economic friendly set up:

ASRock A330ION (105 euro)
Kingston ValueRAM 2GB DDR3 (25 euro)
picoPSU-120 + 60W Adapter Power Kit (50 euro)

I would like to boot XBMC live from a USB stick so I don’t need a HDD. Is this possible?

First try without an extra fan.

Total +- 190 euro

What do you guys think of this interesting project? Smile

Yes it could work! I wanted to do one, but had trouble finding an empty case for a decent price.

Get pictures when your done with it.

Another cool project would be to make one in an original Xbox case that can handle any 1080P file you can throw at it. Big Grin
