VDPAU Device Preempted errors
#1
I get a lot of crashes on XBMC, lately. When I start a TV Show or Movie XBMC switches resolution of my TV and then crashes. In the log it gives me VDPau errors.

I am running a compiled version of the Dharma SVN 35619 on Ubuntu 10.10 (Linux 2.6.35-23-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 24 11:55:36 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux). Nvidia driverversion is 260.19.21.

install gdm (apt-get install gdm) on your system and repost crashlog

That would be "sudo apt-get install gdb", gdm is the Gnome display manager Smile

Ok. I installed gdb but it doesn't give me another kind of logfile. Then I tried the "Run "ulimit -c unlimited"" but it doesn't give me a core file. I run xbmc-live on a Ubuntu 10.10 minimal installation.

Maybe you can tell me what I am doing wrong here...

I tried the following: gdb -p <pid of xbmc> and logged the output of the crash of xbmc. You can find that here. The crashlog is here.

I hope this helps, even if it's a little. Please tell me what I need to do to produce a logfile with the gdb trace.
