Hi there,

I'm having an issue with my sound. I use the XBMCFreak Nuvoton 10.00 Experimental version 2 of XBMCfreak.nl and i only have sound while playing a movie.

Everything seems to work fine but when i want to play a regular MP3 file my sound doesn't work. My Asrock 330HT is connected to a z5500 receiver with an optical cable. I got alsamixer version 1.0.22 and everything is unmuted. In XBMC i use the "digital" option in sound hardware aswel as 5.1 channel audio with iec195 settings.

I can't figure out what is going on so if anyone could help!

Try that :

sudo nano /home/"USER"/.asoundrc
replace content for
pcm.!default spdif

Reboot

Set Speaker Configuration to 2.1
Dolby digital capable receiver set to Yes
DTS Capable receiver set to Yes
Audio Output device iec958
Passthrough iec958

Don't worry about the speaker configuration when playing DTS or Dolby Digital file, the system is using the Passtrhough path...
