Putty AppleTV2

I am to the point I can log into the appletv2 with putty but the password apline does not work. I did nothing else so it shoudl not have been changed.
Can anyone make a suggestion on how to proceed next?

you mean "alpine" not apline, correct?
do you connect with the user root and have the correct ip?
so: ssh root@yourIPofTheATV
? should work....

Yes sorry alpine.
I am able to log in with $ ssh root@my IP
Then it asks for the password but alpine does not work

No tried multiple times to ensure i typed nothing other then

alpine

$ ssh [email protected]'s password:
Access denied

tried to give wrong password and get:
"Permission denied, please try again."
So there should be a different problem on your case...
have you added the ssh keys permanently to your known hosts setting on your machine when connecting the first time via ssh?
perhaps there is a problem with that... ?

and you have booted tethered correctly?

Perhaps try a different ssh program? Maybe there is something set wrong in your puTTy? I know it's pretty basic but.... Maybe Winscp or Cyberduck?

Installed the full version of putty and then logged in with Winscp without ussing ssh. then used winscp to start putty and was able to get in.

No idea whay but it worked

I've got this problem as well Sad putty refuses my password but I can login ok using winSCP, but it's kreps timing out Sad can anyone help?

At that point all you can really do is re-jailbreak and try again.
