Dear all,

I have updated a lot of my .nfo files manually
on my NAS.

How do I force XBMC to update its library
from the updated .nfo files, without scraping
Internet, in one batch operation?

I know I can do it for a single movie, but
that would be too tiresome.

Set the content to none, then reset it to whatever the content is. That will force a rescan of your files.

When you say set content to none, do you mean remove the source directories and then re-add them?

Your not really removing them, but you are. You are just not having to do the add source step. You will re set content again, and it ask to update the path, which will rescrape them. You would still have the same issue as doing a remove source, it would be like starting over. No watched tags, resumes, recent added order, and such.
