XBMC 10.1 on WinXP, standard skin, can't exit program?
#1
I've installed XBMC 10.1 on my mothers laptop, but when she press the third icon down left left, and then the red EXIT on the left, XBMC don't exit, and then she can't do anything.

Is this some kind of bug or somehing?

Are there more ways to exit XBMC? Using fullscreen mode...

Get a debug log. You should always be able to alt-tab away from it.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

There is a bug in v10.1 that can cause it to hang on shutdown. A debug log will help check if you've run into the bug.

This is the log.

EDIT: Is the log correct? And, what can I do about the bug? Do I need to use a nightly instead?

EDIT2: I tried with latest nightly. Still the same problem.

The bug in v10.1 is fixed in the nightly builds, so that can't be the problem.

The two nightly build logs appear to be incomplete. They don't show any attempt to exit XBMC.

Well, I pressed the "exit" button, the one to the left of the four that comes up, and nothing happened.

I then alt+tab and ended the process.

Did XBMC freeze up, or was it still working after you clicked the Exit button? That is, did clicking the exit button do nothing, or did it cause XBMC to try and exit then freeze?

On the home screen pressing the End key on the keyboard will cause XBMC to exit, as will pressing alt-F4. Try these two keys.

XBMC did freeze up. I could do nothing in XBMC after that. I.e. it wasn't just that the clicking didn't do anything.

I will try the end key to exit also.

Here are some more logs. I tried with XBMC in windowed mode twice, and the worked to exit, both with the exit button and with END.

Then I switched to the full screen again, and it doesn't work.

It seems like the CPU is running 100% in full screen to. That can't be good/right?

EDIT: This is the shity computer my mother uses.
