So, what is the quietest 120mm cooler I can get? Another?

Scythe SY1225SL12M 120mm "Slipstream" Case Fan $12

Scythe SY1225SL12SL 120mm "Slipstream" Case Fan $14
http://www.amazon.com/Scythe-Slip-Stream...285&sr=1-1

GELID Solutions FN-FW12-15-B 120mm Gamer Fan WING 12 Blue $20

GELID Solutions FN-FW12BPL-18 120mm Blue LED Case Fan $25

Scythe Gentle Typhoon, the 11, 12 and 13 $40!!!

one of these 2

[FAN: 120mm] SilenX IXP-74-09 800RPM 38CFM 9dBA ($14 + $0)
[FAN: 120mm] Scythe SY1225SL12L 800RPM 40.17CFM 10.70dBA ($14 + $0)[/quote]
OK, so, I have this options:

Scythe Slip Stream SY1225SL12SL $14
Silenx IXP7409 iXtrema Pro Fan $25

Is the SilenX worth $11 more? I actually seen the Scythe very much recommended, but just in case.

NOTE: I see you say SY1225SL12L and the one at amazon is SY1225SL12SL any difference?

I can not buy from newegg.
I finally bought it here:

http://www.antarespro.com/3806904-item-S...16d309d314

They have google checkout, and that works just fine. I paid 16 shipped.

By the way, the difference is only the RPM?

SY1225SL12SL (500 rpm version)
SY1225SL12L (800 rpm version)
SY1225SL12M (1,200 rpm version)
SY1225SL12H (1,600 rpm version)
SY1225SL12SH (1,900 rpm version)

Also, wouldn't the 500 rpm be quieter, or is it too low on power?
no, the difference isn't only the RPM...
also how much air (CFM) is pushes...
Well, I assume that the less RPM, the less air it pushes, so one is a consequence of the other, right?
its a give and take....

you need to search for the best balance between CFM and RPM,,,

and those 2 i suggested are exactly that!
Hey Eskro,
Huge thanks for all the info you provide! I was hoping you could help me out with updating the first build that you provided on this thread. I.E I am looking for the cheapest possible build that will be able to play 1080p MKV and stream 720p video. Wireless would be a plus but not necessary as I can just get a usb adapter. It will run on either ubuntu or openelec. It will serve as my main multimedia PC so 500GB-1TB HDD will be required as well(SSD not required). Could you please help me out with a shopping list for this cheap build. I would really appreciate it!

or this one?

if you don't plan to bitstream dts-hd and truehd, the second one will be fine. you might be able to upgrade the mini graphic card later too!
Could I just add a cheap video card and some memory to this?

i'd use that for openelec only,,,
Okay, how about this one? Looks like same specs as the pulse box... Just add HDD and memory and I am good to go?
