i am downloading this, although i am not sure how to install it.

Why isnt this version available to be downloaded directly from xbmc? there it still shows as version 0.6.9

ok, updated facebook media from zip file...

now i am getting a diferent error message:

no control matching name 'submit[Don&#039:t Save]',kind'clickab...

Any ideas?

just installed XBMC the first time and was testing it, When i noticed that the facebook app was not working i found this thread here and updated to 0.7.6.

i recieve exact same error "no control matching name[submit, this is ok]...clickable...

error of mine:

'unocode' object has no attribute 'get'
when select "friends"

version 0.7.6 - xbmc version 12 nightly v.
on imac osx 10.7

obtained 3 greens of 4...

Installed the repo and updated to 0.7.6.

Having trouble with this addon as well


Any attempt to view photos or friends seems to start to work as something is downloaded but xbmc crashes as soon as they are about to display.
Where am I going wrong? Anyone have any ideas?

I'm having the same (or very similar issue). After getting latest edition by installing from the repo, I get this - posting end of log in case this differs and helps at all. I guess facebook changed something that broke this, am I right? Seems it freezes on pane 3 of 4 on config, then when I reload, I get the user tile that is empty, with the following in log

Now heres the interesting bit, if I open the default.py file and jump to line 1259 I see this:

self.window.getControl(140).setImage(self.getSetting('current_user_pic')

another thread that I've lost track of now discussed the Asterisk add in and suggested removing the quotes on a similar line, so I did so here and on the below line referencing current_user_name.

After an XBMC restart (

killall -9 xbmc.bin

)

The addin seems to load further, I get to select from Albums, videos, friends etc.

Now though, it crashes out completely and restarts xmbc when it loads photos in.

No idea what I'm doing here really, but perhaps this will help fix the issue in some way!!!

Incidentally, the exact same behaviour was seen on the version available before I loaded the repo version (0.6.7 I think It was). Same hack I did, same behaviour, getting a bit further, then falling over.

Incidentally, haven't read the whole thread, but to put in context, this is on latest OpenElec on Rasberry Pi.

Just a quick update to say I'm working on fixing some of the latest issues and the issues with Frodo.

Personally, when I updated to Frodo, the addon had issues with crashing XBMC when backing up in the hierarchy. I've found the problem and have fixed it for the next update. I'll look at some of the other issues as well, see about fixing them, and update my repo with a new version when I'm done.

For those with problems with Login Notifications enabled, try disabling Login Notifications and then authorize the addon. You can re-enable it afterwards and it should work fine. I have login notifications enabled and can use the addon just fine.

I do not plan on supporting anything but the normal login process at this time. There is no authentication method in the Facebook API for a browser-less device. That means I have to scrape web pages and such and handling the changes with login notification is difficult. I have tried and failed quite a few times. This also does not take into account that Facebook likes to change things often.

- Fixed issues with some changes to Facebook API causing errors with user images and similar
- Fixed authentication code not actually fetching token after 4 digit code was entered
- External: When going to xbmc.2ndmind.com/fb, it now forces the user to re-enter their password, thereby giving a chance to logout the user

Please let me know how it works for you. If you have errors, I need a log. If you are having problems authenticating and you have any sort of login security enabled, disable the security or write your own addon
