You can change the spotlight widget in the hub. Open the hub configuration dialog and choose the "Background" button from the right hand side buttons (the circular ones where close/reset etc. are). Any options which affect the whole hub will appear in the side buttons (i.e. anything which isn't an option specific to the menu item highlighted on the left side

I can't seem to find that option. Hub customization is greyed out unless you select a custom hub and from there I still don't see any options for this.

This button on the right (you need to disable "Widgets only" for the hub to see it because the widgets only mode disables the spotlight, categories, and submenus)

It appears that that option is greyed out and I can't change it.  Interesting enough is that with it enabled (TV Hub) I get that empty category I described early where I can't access the widgets. Still though, I have never seen that screen yet. I've hit every button on the keyboard, and then some, and can't seem to trigger it.

I did make a sports section in the home section that works pretty well. Given the usefulness of the home I like the idea of using the four side options for something 'new' or 'different'. The trakt.tv calendar is a nice touch.

Here is the sports section I made: https://streamable.com/h0jgzk

What add-ons you are using here? Because most free sports add-ons they like colors and everything that mess up what the skin is all about...

I was searching for sports addons that had information other than streaming videos. There were not many that I could find, CBC Sports and Euronews were the only one that provided sports highlights. The F1 info comes from the Formula1 app on the official repo. The last row comes from the the Red Bull app. The upcoming events are just timers in the PVR to remind me if there is an event this weekend.  The Amateur sports in from sportsdeutschland.tv.  I don't think any of them are banned afaik.

I noticed another issue with setting up channel widgets.  When I set up a widget for US channels and Canadian Channels using skin helper -> pvr-> groups  it will show both groups as the same (usually the top widget).

Thank you so much! 🙏

RE: Arctic Fuse - Bergarth - 2023-08-07

This looks awesome - but I can't install via shield and Matrix and the repo
It refuses to install skin variables I got horizon to install one time but even that won't now because of skin variables - I'd there a work around for scrubs like me

RE: Arctic Fuse - CouchGuy - 2023-08-07

Nice! Navigation using the back button improved a lot. Thank you!
The only issue for me is when you're at the first item of the widget then you press left, it show up the main menu instead of going at the last item of the widget. The same when you're at last item then you press right. There's an option (endlessly wrap viewtypes) but it making me a little dizzy.
I used Artic Zephyr Reloaded before and I really like the "list" viewtype/listtype.

It has to be fixed or wrap to maintain position. Plain list won't work because I need the focus to always be in the first slot for animations etc.

In terms of left press into the menu, if you press left again it should then go to the end of the list (and vice versa going right). Though I could add an option to disable left into the menu (i.e. so only back will open it) -- I just thought that might be a bit counterintuitive but I guess it could work.

I'm definitely the same as you about the endless wraplist -- I also find it disorientating not having a distinct start and end, but I guess some people like it.

As per the first page: "Requires Kodi Nexus or higher".

The skin relies on new features in skinvariables and tmdbhelper which are not available in the Matrix versions.

RE: Arctic Fuse - klingsor - 2023-08-07

Very good skin, I really like the quick access to the different elements, I would like to know if it is possible to set when an episode or movie ends according to the time, as AHZ2 does, that is to say, when I pause or start watching a movie it tells me the time it will end.

These will be similar to stacked widgets but with a bit more advanced filtering e.g. things like TMDbHelper Recommendations based on previous item; or all movies in library with same year/genre/studio and so on.

After tinkering with some of the features this past few days I can say I really appreciate the direction that this skin is going and how you want to use widgets in relation to the functionality of Arctic Fuse!

I really want to see what you mean by "related widgets" though because it could be very interesting.

Two of the biggest stacked widget features I would use was:

* PVR Channel Groups/TV Guide, with a stacked widget of Last Played Channels that was specific to the channel group that was currently highlighted.

** YouTube Subscription Channels, with a stacked widget of Recently Uploaded videos specific to the subscription channel that was highlighted.

These were absolute game changers and I'm sure I could've went further, but most of my widgets were hidden in a custom hub.

Honestly, the home screen centric way you can set widgets up with Fuse (using the "Widget Categories" feature) is extremely preferable! And I'd love to see how I can incorporate a related widget into Live TV, YouTube, TV Shows, and Movies.

TLDR; Keep cooking man! I'm looking forward to your future ideas!

RE: Arctic Fuse - jurialmunkey - 2023-08-08

@inihendrix - So we're on the same page, when you say "stacked" widget you mean the ones which are stacked vertically (e.g. the row underneath is based on widget above) and not the "node" widgets from the custom hubs?

Because I've already added in a few of the vertically stacked widgets that I mentioned:
Choose Widget > Stacked (Experimental) >

There's currently TMDbHelper Recommendations, Genre, and Year ones for Movies/TVShow. So e.g. if you set Recommendations (Movies) as the widget underneath a row of movies, that stacked widget will show TMDbHelper Recommended Movies for the currently focus movie in the row above.

I'm currently testing these out to make sure they work correctly before I expand the options further -- but I've got a lot of ideas how I can have for example a library based one which adapts to the genre or studio etc. Will also be adding the standard one which just opens the subfolder.

RE: Arctic Fuse - htpc-mac - 2023-08-08

@jurialmunkey
The Start and Stop times are missing from the EPG as well.

Like this little program here.  What time does it start? Sometime in between the hour and the half hour.

Yep, I'm talking about the vertically stacked widgets, that respond to the widget above it, just as you described 👍 the ability to customize those stacked widgets added a lot of functionality. But I understand you're building this skin using strict requirements so it might take some time to implement certain things, or possibly evolve into an entirely different idea.

I'm very interested in how these new ideas of yours will take shape. You build the sandbox and I will do my best to play around in it!

RE: Arctic Fuse - Romik2505 - 2023-08-09

Even though I only have one video while watching, it shows multiple fanarts instead of one. Autoscroll doesn't work. Whether it is on or off it works the same
