Android Kodi on Nvidia Shield TV using Harmony Elite remote
#1
Question
I have Kodi 17.6 working well on my Shield TV and controlling it with my Harmony Elite remote with a Harmony Hub.
My question is, is there a way to assign a simple keypress on the remote to turn subtitles on and off and another to change audio stream? These functions are available in the Kodi menu but a shortcut would make it so much easier...

thanks for any suggestions

Many thnaks for the suggestion. Unfortunately the Key Editor does not recognise key presses on the Harmony remote as valid.

You need to add a BlueTooth Windows Keyboard to your Shield Startup routine, this will fix the issue about keys not working on the remote.

Can I ask how you got the remote to work with the shield AND Kodi? I'm stuck as anytime I try to use the remote after assigning it kodi commands it tells me I need to use the app to pair the remote. I have the harmony touch and the hub. I've tried setting it up several times but it's always telling me I need to pair it even after I do pair it.
