I am having the same problem as well.

Can't seem to get NFS to work either. Any solution to this yet?

Ok, to make it work all you have to do is open your users and groups preferences and enable guest user, make sure you check the box to allow guest to access shared folders. Works the balls after this.

Thanks Learjet!!!

This seems to be it - it is working with mine now, too! I didn't even need to activate the guest account - was enough to click the box that guests may access shared folders - in the share-preferences I didn't even need to grant full access, read-access is enough!

Thanks for your help there!

Still running in to this, but using Linux as the client instead. Driving me absolutely nuts. This what I get in logs, which is supremely unuseful:

Work from my MacBook and from an AppleTV no problem though.

I've tried the Guest User suggestion, and tried changing permissions on what AFP I've been sharing.

This is driving me absolutely nuts, and I'm suspecting that Lion wants a different crypt than what Ubuntu 10.04.3 offers, but the logging is of course not nice enough to just tell me straight off.

Any other thoughts on this?
