v14 Step back not working
#1
I'm looking to move to Kodi as my front end instead of the MediaPortal client, and have struck some issues. I'm running Kodi 14.2 against MediaPortal 1.11 on Windows 8.1. I seem to be having buggy behaviour with navigating through recorded shows; I have seen this raised in a few other places on the forum but haven't found any answers.

When I attempt to use the "step back 30 seconds" function (either via remote control left arrow, or keyboard left arrow, or keyboard comma) the playback point moves forward instead. The playback bar seems to move backwards briefly but then jumps forward by around 45 seconds.

Unfortunately this behaviour is inconsistent. Here are some of the exceptions I have found:
1.
It behaves correctly at some points in a recording (e.g.within the first three minutes of the recording); between 3-5 minutes it does not skip at all, and after around the 5 minute mark it starts skipping forward in 45 second steps. Up arrow steps forward 10 mins and down arrow steps back 10 mins correctly.

2.
A different recording of the same show (same channel, time of day. just two days earlier) produces quite different behaviour. The left arrow button steps back 22 seconds consistently, the right arrow button steps forward 22 seconds, the up arrow button steps forward 1:51 and down arrow steps back 1:51.

3.
Yet another completely different recording behaves correctly up till around the 30 minute mark, then behaves as per case 1 except that the up and down arrows now also skip forward only.

4.
This case is slightly different but may be connected - I am unable to step back through live TV at all, I can only pause and play. The left/right arrows do nothing. Given that this is possible in the MediaPortal front end then it would seem to be supported by the MP TV Service... maybe not supported in Kodi? I'm less concerned about this one, but the bug relating to skipping through recorded shows is really annoying!

Do you have comskip edl files being generated?

Yes, there are .edl files but they are zero length.

Hmm, I was finding my .edl files were causing the bad jumps but if yours are 0 length then i'm not sure what it could be, sorry...
