Scraping difficult movies / shows (example: xxxHolic)
#1
Hi!

I cannot get themoviedb scraper to work reliably. Simple stuff is fine, but as soon as there are multiple similarly named items, the scraper does not catch the data correctly.

I read the FAQ / linked-to helper threads and tried a lot.

Let me use an example, the franchise "xxxHolic". It exists as TV shows and movies, in various seasons, and the TV show exists as anime and as real-life TV show. Here is themoviedb data:

----

TV shows

1. "xxxHOLiC (2006)" - https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/36250

2. "xxxHolic: Kei (2008)" - https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/67031

3. "xxxHolic: Shunmuki (2009)" - https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/67032

4. "Clamp xxxHolic (2013)" - https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/46290

Of these, 1. and 2. are considered season 1 and 2, while 3 is a separate show. 1-3 are anime, 4. is the live-action show.

Now, when I set it up exactly like this (folder names in quotation marks, a parsing.nfo file with the link) I get the following results:

Under TV shows, it finds 1. and 2. but not 3. and 4. Under Files / TV shows, it finds all, none has artwork.

----

Movies

5. "xxxHOLiC The Movie: A Midsummer Night's Dream (2005)" - https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/38567

6. "xxxHolic Ro (2010)" - https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/53269

7. "xxxHolic Ro Adayume (2011)" - https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/405326

Now, when I set it up exactly like this (folder names in quotation marks, a parsing.nfo file with the link) I get the following results:

It finds 5. but not 6. and 7. for under "Movies". Under files, all three can be found. Under files, none has artwork.

----

Any thoughts?

All of this applies in other cases as well. I notice how many videos I have under files that don't show up at all under movies and TV shows. Is there any way to see what Kodi doesn't catch? So I can work my way through file nameing, parsing.nfo and other stuff?

Thanks!!

I had no problem scraping the items you could not scrape.

Please provide a Debug Log which captures you trying to scrape these items.

Yes, of course you will see them. Vides>Files is a File Manager, so you would see everything. The Movies and TV Show menu items are library views so you will only see what has been scanned/scraped into the library.
