If you can give me some pointers buddy then I would like to at least try and create some more for the database if I can
Mike.
That's the issue. I can't myself (yet) and I am happy other people with the skills (like koufos) are creating them. This is also the reason I react to skanks post.
But you can really find a lot on youtube :-)
- great (hi-res) images can be found on fanart.tv (even clean art).
- use Photoshop to edit the image
- animations/scenes can be found on youtube (trailers of movies for example).
- with http://www.clipconverter.cc you can save youtube clips to a file
- Final Cut Pro can be used to create/edit clips
- ffmpeg can be used to dump clips to frames (png) with a sequence number
- those pngs can be imported into Final Cut Pro
- Final Cut Pro (or Adobe After Effects for that matter) can be used for adding effects, adding additional frames etc.
- ffmpeg can be used for creating the animated gif of a movie
Here's a nice PS tutorial the TutVid (my favorite channel) just published.

BTW, am I wrong in assuming that the completed PSD file could be published at a fraction of the size of rendered video? It could then be shared with those in community desiring to use to create HD video for use with Kodi or the Movie Poster App.
