I just tried your #0702b and it fixed the jerky playback on both a 1030 celeron and a j5005 gemini lake.

The jerkiness is still present in the latest libreeelec alphas (which use the latest kodi rc).

Is this because the libreelec guys need to apply the fix to libreelec?

Is the fix likely to be in the first kodi 18 libreelec release - is it best I post over their to make them aware?

Cheers!

No, these builds and the LibreELEC alphas have all the kernel fixes that are currently available/known about.

Presumably you have jerky playback in the latest of these test builds, #1205?

If so, it's likely the jerky playback is due to something else, for example see issue #14939 which identifies a pair of problem Kodi PRs, the first of which merged in #0809.
 Thanks for the reply Smile

the issue 14939 doesn't seem to fit really - the problem i'm having is only 24p jerky without osd on - with osd on it's smooth regardless of refresh rate.

24p content from amazon prime addon streaming:

With the display rate set to 60hz -  jerky unless osd in on.
With the display rate set to 50hz -  sometimes smooth, then it goes jerky then smooth again. Smooth always if osd in on.
If I set it to change the refresh rate to the content (start/stop for example) then the tv reports 24hz and it runs smooth with/without the osd.

Same with all hardware acceleration on or off.

I'll try your 1205 build tonight, cheers Smile
