Is this intentional?

Hi,

First thanks to your amazing works
Always doing your skins to be the more polished of all, and this new one looks maybe even nicer than AZ2.
I'll test it as soon as possible...

In your UI reflection to make the skin simple, intuitive and user friendly, did you consider the player OSD?
Always think that it was a 'weakness' of kodi, especially for non-english user.

When you're watching a movie/show, basically the only things you will do 99% of time: pause/volume/change subtitles and languages.
But it's kind a pain in the ass to go through the language/subtitlesptions: need a lot of key press!

I think the play, stop, forward, skip buttons are useless, or at least not as usefull as language/subtitles ones.
(left/right with the remote to fast forward, up/down to skip, and ok to play/pause)

With smart remotes (logitech harmony...) or bluetooth keyboard, it's not a big deal as you can add dedicated button to audio/subtitles change, but with all the new kodi box and smart tv, I think that the main user experience should be designed with the few CEC buttons that everyone have: OK, BACK and Directions.

Streaming apps (netflix...) and infuse (if I remember correctly) are way more user friendly for non-english users

The OSD is pretty much the same as in AZ2.

Works fine for me.

Probably don't have any items in your power menu:
"Skin Settings > Lists and Other > Customise power menu"

Code:

#: /1080i/SkinSettings.xml
msgctxt "#31231"
msgid "Autoclose OSD"
msgstr "Cierre automático de OSD"

#: /1080i/SkinSettings.xml
msgctxt "#31386"
msgid "Auto close OSD controls after delay (in seconds)"
msgstr "Tiempo para cierre automático de los controles OSD (en segundos)"

31386 ("Auto close OSD controls after delay (in seconds)") is just a leftover string that I missed when I was cleaning things up - the current string "Autoclose OSD" is correct. I've removed 31386 now.

These can't be localized because they are settings values.

(2020-09-08, 23:55)roliverosc Wrote: PD: I have a suggestion I have a suggestion and it is to use verbs like display, hide etc in the menu options of settigns. Some options are a bit silly.

I do use verbs where necessary. However, in most radiobutton controls they're unnecessary because having a checkmark in the box already implies the verb "display" or "enable" (and no checkmark implies "hide" or "disable").

e.g. "Display clock [ ]" is unnecessary because "Clock [ ]" conveys exactly the same information. The box is not checked so the clock is hidden.

I try to keep the setting strings as short as possible to make it easier to find the correct setting. If there are places where you think the setting is confusing, please let me know and I'll change the string.

I haven't ever used online radio with Kodi, so I don't know much about it.

How do you listen to it? Is it via an addon or via PVR section?
Its radio streams from m3u file with all infos (artists and songs name).
If you install Artist Slideshow (which the skin supports but doesn't require) you can potentially get artwork for streaming stations, but only if the station provides the artist name in the format <name> - <song>.  There is also an option in the advanced settings (called something like aggressive search) to additionally try to find the artist using <song> - <artist>, but beware that if you enable that and <song> also matches an artist, you will get both.  There's a link in my sig to my addons, and AS is one of them.  There's a forum thread for support (linked on that page), so you don't need to ask questions about AS here.

i added live tv (tvheadend client) to my home,

as home widget i chose All Channels, Display Info is set to True, working fine for all Aspects
exept when i set Aspect to Icon, then there is no Info shown, just die icons.

same happens with Last played Channels widget,
no info when Aspect is set to Icon

Is it somehow possible to disable the labels from menu items? Most Icons are self explaining and also you get the label for the selected item. That would be awesome.

Display info option is automatically disabled for Icon and Lovefilm aspects because those aspects use non-standard widget heights which cause alignment issues.

Make the label a space. That should effectively make it nothing.

anyone else have issue where the auto close OSD setting does not work?
In the settings I set it to auto close after 5 seconds but mine never closes.

When on information screen if a show (and maybe movie) is missing crew\cast info the cursor highlight is missing when pressing down. To get back to the first info screen I have to hit back. Anyone else notice this?
