WIP Windows 3D MVC Bluray test builds
(2016-03-08, 17:10)cncb Wrote: Sorry, it is not clear to me when hardware decoding can be used. At first, I thought it was stated only when using the GPU of a supported Intel CPU, but later it seems like it was suggested that hardware decoding is also possible with an NVidia or AMD card as long as you have a supported Intel CPU and download the required Intel dll? Is this true? Thanks.

Imo, just try it. Either it works or it doesn't. Too many variables from system to system and this is all new development.
I'm not really familiar with the portable mode so what I do is cut and paste from the programs x86 folder and the roaming folder and put them on the desktop in a folder. Then install this test version with the dll. When I'm done testing and want to use my good original install, I just swap back the folders. You can do this repeatedly. You don't have to reinstall unless your updating the version. In that case, delete the old x86 folder and install the new version. Rinse and repeat.

I'm eyeing up the same NUC............ Any chance you have an Xbox One and could try the game streaming while you are at it (my current HTPC struggles with it.)? Once you've tested the 3D of course!
Pretty much any infrared sensor works with the Harmony... Just make sure windows pulls in the drivers for it and it's active.

Did not even think about streaming with the XBOXONE, I will test that once I finish playing with 3DCool ,I guess time to dust of the Xbox360 controller for NUC

I just the check Logitech Harmony website and I saw that it compatible with Intel NUC

3D MVC works fine, but only 21:9 with cinemascope bars, other Movies (Fullscreen 16:9) stutters a lot.

bit offtopic but thats one of the reason i consider a nuc aswell, i could get my ps4 stream to it (with upcoming update), i wonder if it will be 1080p then and if i lose surround sound or not

More information, please?

What file format are the movies in?

What system set-up are you using?

What movies are you testing?

FYI every single movie on Blu-ray is 16:9 or 1920x1080. If there are black bars those are a part of the image the same as if the movie was full screen top to bottom with vibrant colors. Your post doesn't add much to go on to figure out what you are trying to say.

What hardware are you testing on?

Intel i7 4770k, 4 x 3,5 GhZ
16 GB DDR 3 RAM
Geforce GTX 780
Asus Sabertooth Z87

think thats enough or?

all movies are mvc mkv's, all with cinemascope bars works fine, fullscreen (like Avatar, Sammy Adventures etc) stutters. all movies the same mvc mkv's

Are you outputting via HDMI on motherboard or from you GTX? Needs to be from the motherboard otherwise it will be software decoded (...I think....) which would explain some movies stuttering and others not.

All based on the idea that you can't make use of the intel tools and driver via a Nvidia card......

Bingo. Sounds exactly like it's software decoding for transmission via the GeForce GPU.
Yes its over HDMI in the Nvidia GTX780. So what can i do?

Does your motherboard have HDMI Output?

@Bennie1358 I can't imagine many circumstances where an inbuilt intel gpu is better than an external nvidia gtx780. Maybe MVC is one of them.

Have you downloaded and installed intel library? It is needed on AMD, so perhaps it is also needed on nVidia.

(EDIT or maybe I have that around the wrong way, this thread is confusing!)
