I am at 1625 movies in the library according to kodi. These are all inside the tower/movies you mentioned. There are a few in their own movie folder (like mad max) but 99% are just mkvs dropped into the movie folder.
I added 3 more movies to the "Movie" folder that I was attempting to scan to library when this happened .

Is my next step to remove the movies folder and refresh all info and try re-adding it?

Thanks Bry....sounded good until I came across this warning:
'Due to the number of issues, do not not run this against network locations unless the drive is mapped to a local drive letter'

all my stuff is on an unraid server and no drive letter.

Semi-success!

I went ahead and removed my 'Movie' source, re-added it, set content and let it scan my movies again.
It finished at 1628...the original 1625 and the 3 I added.

This weekend I will try to add a movie or 2 and make sure it adds correctly.
