That's the right remote and it does go to sleep just like the one that is not backlit.

Not sure what's going on here. My issue is that it goes to sleep so i have to press a button to wake it up and then press the button again to get it registered.

is there any way to stop it from sleeping?

That's how the remoted are designed to save battery life or else you will be replacing batteries once a month

can't we just make it detect movement via the sensors and wake up instead of actually pressing a button.

For that you should talk to the manufacturer.

The remote in OP had issue with sleeping you faced.
T3 didn't have the issue.

Keep in mind there are a lot of different remotes and manufacturers. So you probably better ask in it's thread that it's safe to order. Be careful.

I have asked in the thread. If you could take a look as well, that would be great.

Just want to share with u guys my experience with another remote which seems to be a new MX3 clone.
The only code name I found for identification is TK628 and this is the link
Buttons layout is pretty similar, except few differences:
- in the upper front side the search button is missing in favor of backlight toggle button
- qwerty layout is identical to the T3 Remote.
On my Win7 Kodi 18 setup, back button works correctly out of the box, all the front side buttons can be IR mapped but the 4 colored keys at the bottom don't seem to send anymore valid 2.4Ghz input. Tried with ShowKey and AutoHotKey without luck, they seems to work only in IR mode. On my previous MX3 they used to send F4 to F7 inputs, which was very nice for some Kodi less frequent shortcut (ie. change subtitles, launch some addon etc...) or Windows command but, besides this little lack, I am pleasantly surprised by this remote. Air mouse function is more linear and accurate, keyboard it's better and imho it's more ergonomical than the old MX3. Also backlight is pretty good (but it's still difficult see alt functions on keyboard side at dark) and with a better overall quality construction.

Hi,

I have this remote, (mine's badged as Bonusis though) - it works great with Kodi, but I'm struggling to get the IR buttons to work.

I've watched a load of YouTube videos on how to map them and followed that proceed properly I believe, but I cant get the remote to control my Panasonic TV.

I believe the remote is learning the code, as I've used a camera to watch the IR sender LED and I can see that it does flash, so it looks like its an issue with the TV not liking the remote

Any anyone else come across this issue or something similar?

Thanks.

Rii 13 is way better for IR purposes.

They should edit the mx3 to change the 4 colored buttons to ie "TV, SAT, AUDIO, ETC", so you can have a full IR remote for every equipment like the rii 13 has. But Rii 13 is old and hard to find.

Hope some manufacturer do this.

I really liked the MX3, but using Linux kernel 4.18.x or newer it went mad: Apparently the mouse mode seems to generate cursor movements in parallel. Makes the air mouse completely unusable for kodi. If I move back to an older kernel the problem is gone.

Its surely not a problem of kodi. Anybody out there having the same?
