Oh, thats sad...
Do you know when a fix will be released? I want to use Kodi 17, for Intel VAAPI, the new skin and a few other things.

I don't know, I'm not a developer, but Kodi 17 is still in beta, anything could happen day by day

I would like to investigate but I don't even get to the point where something goes wrong in Kodi. On OSX the addon crashes as soon as I click on it.

Hi,
I'm on Beelink mini MXIII with Libreelec, I have installed Spotify addon, copied the files from my PC with Kodi and addon working and I can manage to start Spotify on my box, but songs are playing only 30 seconds. Any idea how to fix it?

Posting because I don't want to see another Spotify add-on die!
I have this add-on running in OSMC on my Raspberry Pi 1 (with a pretty sub-optimal internet connection at that). It works really well and plays just like local media (i.e. song transitions are smooth, it works with music visualizations). Delay/lag while navigating is actually really good considering most add-ons suffer pretty heavily on my setup.
For posterity's sake, here is what I'm working with:
Raspberry Pi 1
OSMC
Kodi 16.1 - RC3
Had to copy the cache files from a Windows machine (my Mac on El Capitan was getting the ASCII error mentioned in other places on this thread)
For copying the cache files, I put the entire "plugin.audio.spotify" directory onto a flash drive, put it in my Pi, and used SSH to move it to the correct directory in OSMC. I then installed the Spotify add-on from the repository and it works great!
Thanks again for making this! Spotify was kind of the deal breaker for my Kodi based Pi, HTPC setup lol

^ If the addon won't work in the final release of Kodi 17, it will die like the others...
