Mike, +1

If the voting is still open, I like this view.

I would not show the name of the movie or rating unless movie is selected. I also vote that once you select the movie it should take you to dialogvideoinfo, like it does when you are scrolling through movies

Do you mean the view pictured or the view described? So far my research on having the widget take you to dialogue video info for items in your local library would mean a request to BigNoid to add an option in the library.data.provider settings... But I will keep researching that. I won't know until I try it but I may be able to add an <onup> event to open a similar description area like the current classic widgets do or maybe even the information window… it would probably not make the release date but you never know... The interesting part about all this is your vote, I think, makes it 50/50... I may just add an option for turning labels off/on, if after I try it the code actually works...

Mike:

I don't know the difference between pictured and described.

I was just trying to say that when you select a movie from a widget it should not play automatically, but take you to a screen where you can read the plot, cast.etc

I hope this helps.

Hey Mike, thanks for putting together my "vision" of the panel with the titles and ratings off the poster. I think that looks absolutely awesome Smile

I agree that it looks good I just wish the "voting" wasn't so 50/50... It really makes it hard to pick one Confused

Are they voting on having the title/rating off the poster vs. on the poster, or are they voting whether to show the title/rating on all the posters vs. only the focused poster? I thought it was the latter...?

That is an interesting question... As it appears to be all four boiled down to two options. I thought your idea of the labels off the posters was a perfect compromise to those that wanted to be able to see the art vs. seeing the info with the art... but it seems to me that it is a personal preference for a lot of variables that are hard to please all... That is not a bad thing since most design decisions are definitely preferred by a select few... So... Huh

ah, I get ya now. In that case, I change my vote--showing info WITH (as opposed to ON) all the posters, as long as the info is off the posters themselves, works for me Smile

Looks like you are going to have to bite the bullet and have an option to turn on and off labels for all or just selected. Wink

Mike:

I took this image from Warner's post. In my "second" opinion this setup is identical to the rest of the skin, if you decide to add more movies (Warner has 5) it would be your choice, but the movie info and rating at the bottom with the shaded black (so you can read the info) within the poster works.

You should include what you really like, adding both options is too much work for a widget

On a different subject, last week I made the comment of adding MPAA ratings. If you decide to incorporate this change into the skin I recommend the following script:

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=107331

It downloads the ratings, updates IMDB and also provides a list of the movies you are missing

See, to me, that's too hard to read. Look at the Maze Runner poster and rating. That's very difficult to discern. Same for the Fury poster. I think it'd be better to have the white rating text on a clean dark background off the posters, and keep things clear.
