I have copied across new info from my log file. https://paste.kodi.tv/sigeqiwuma.kodi
I tried whitelisting but that didn't help. I restarted my Kodi box and trailers started working again so I have copied log file details that show trailers like Super Mario Brothers, Wonka, 10 Things I Hate About You and 13 Hours all working. Hoping you can see a difference in this log file compared to the first one I sent to see if there is a difference.
I checked with the developer of the EMBY add-on as I use Emby Server as backend for managing my movies. He came back with following:
Trailers are always played in "addon mode" via http/url.
The errors you see are all fine. These are folder queries and doesn't work with URLs.
As mentioned, the trailer are actually played by the skin but not in the foreground.
You can hear the audio of the trailer when you click "play trailer". I don't know how the skin suppose to show the trailers -> windowed, embedded whatever. Also there are several options in the skin config menu. YouTube trailers etc, all I can say the plugin works correctly.
Also the skin uses a helper, which looks for trailers on file system basis. This will not work with the e4k plugin, and should not be necessary at all (for synced content).
Trailers are synced directly into Kodi's database.
We even tried a modified version of the add-on as follows:
I removed all fullscreen focuses in the plugin code as a test but this didn't help as trailer is playing in background with no picture but I can hear the audio. If I click my back button a couple of times on remote then the trailer appears in full screen.
