[MOD] Aeon MQ 5 for Kodi 14 Helix
Hi, thanks for this great mod, made me switch to kodi Smile

I have a strange bug though..

I use smart playlists, and a custom view made from SHELF (named SHELF CASE, mod posted in the MQ5 topic).
When i'm in the playlist, i see cases of movies and of movies sets (movie_a movie_c set_a movie_e)
When I enter in a set I see the set content (movie_b movie_d)
When I go back, instead of seeing my movies and movies sets, I see all the movies, no sets anymore (movie_a movie_b movie_c movie_d movie_e)
I'f i go back to the home menu, then go again in the playlist, it's all normal again (movie_a movie_c set_a movie_e)

I have yet to test if :
- i have this bug with another view
- i have this bug with the film menu content (not a playlist)

Hey Scott,

It seems that the bug we had in 6.1.7 with the LiveTV-EPG main menu item's Submenu is still there.

Scott I tried the repository in Isengard but every option is greyed out. Seems like it's Helix only. Thanks for your work, I'll wait for an updated Isengard version Smile

Hi Scott,
I just had the bad surprise to see my custom view disappear since i had auto update activated.
My mistake.

But is there a way to submit to you my custom skin ? maybe a pull request?

Please let me know.

So after a few test, I can say that the bug occurs with other views, and only with playlists (not occurring from the default film directory)

OK I have figured how to modify the fonts xml but 2 questions..
1 which line or font number is the main menu bar font
2 which line or font number is normal text
I got the font i want for sub menu (shortcuts) but want a normal font for rest of reading example : settings, file manager,

Here is my font.xml My addition is at line 391 Streamster

EDIT: I found a way to easily replace main menu fonts. I renamed the menu font I want to use as "aeon_mainmenu8". then replace in font folder. Kodi just uses my custom font. That is a easy fix and can test many fonts in short time. I saved the originals on my pc so I can put back if i want. Still want to know Sub menu font number

If you search this forum Wanilton posted a link to it at some point.

I can confirm that using an older version of extended info does in fact work to import settings. I did some searching and found a post where Wanilton refers to an older script, but I happened to have the zip of v 0.0.2 on one of my HTPCs, so I just installed that on my "test" Helix install and that did the trick. One step closer to upgrading to Helix....

Thanks Samu-rai!

(2015-04-30, 18:06)djoole Wrote: Hi, thanks for this great mod, made me switch to kodi Smile

So after a few test, I can say that the bug occurs with other views, and only with playlists (not occurring from the default film directory)

More tests show that this bug only occurs when the playlist is displayed from the main menu (seen on Aeon MQ5 and Aeon Nox so far, not testable on Confluence).
If the playlist is displayed from "files/go up/playlists" there is no problem.

Could someone confirm the bug please?

You need a playlist type movie, containing at least a movie set, then make a shortcut to this playlist in your main menu, then go to that playlist, enter the movie set, and go back.
The set should be broken (every movies in the playlist root, not in sets anymore)

Hi Scott

I've just installed 6.1.8 it looks brilliant. Only ever used Confluence before - this opens up a whole new world of Kodi.

The RSS feed/ticker is squashed virtually off the screen at the bottom, but that's a minor issue and something I can probably adjust within a setting?

Thank you once again to you and all the contributors on this project.

please help, can get it to work , when i installed it just open the logo aeon mq 5 and stays there?? whats wrong?

It can take a while to install you need to be patient. I installed it on a high spec NUC running openelec and it 'hung' on that screen for 5-10min before sorting itself out.

I have done some tests on font numbers. This is what I figured and there may be some other stuff affected but these are areas I noticed right off. This may help if you want to add certain fonts to certain areas of skin.
This is "aeon_mainmenu.ttf" fonts:
Font_15: Sub menu, tags{recent, random, etc), Weather-Some text and numbers changed
Font_18: Video info (play, trailer, actors, etc), Settings- some text on left, File manager, Context menu
Font_13: Couldn't find what it affected
Font_20: Weather-day, Settings-text
Font_22: Addon menus-text inside addon, File manager- Root title
Font_23: Time on top left on some pages, Weather-zip code, temp and few others
Font_24a: Settings- text on left
Font_32: Settings- Large text ( video, appearance, and etc)
Font_40: Movies/tvshows- Title of movies and shows in large print usually in top left
Font_50: Main menu
This was a quick test today to get a idea what fonts affect where. This is not a perfect list but a rough idea.
When changing MAIN MENU fonts I think I think <!-- menu principal modelo 2,3,4,etc --> trump any fonts you try to use in Font_50 So easiest way I found to swap main menu fonts is rename the new font to <!-- menu principal modelo 2,3,4 or what ever one you want to use --> and flip the switch in setting/fonts
Best to create a backup of originals in case you want to use them again.

Thanks. First, realize this skin is by Marcos Qui. All I do is make the changes needed to get version 5 running on Kodi Helix (and fix a few things that didn't actually work in Gotham along the way). Marcos is working on version 6 which I anticipate will leave this version in the dust once he is done with it.

Now on the RSS. It is entirely fixed, but like everything else, can be hacked. In this case not too hard. All the code is in a single file, includes.xml within the skin's 720p folder in your userdata. The skin files are all xml structured text files, so can be edited easily (I recommend notepad++ on windows though).

There are two versions, Home RSS (shows on home screen) and RSS (shows on various other windows).

They both have the same format, looking like this:

Code:
<include name="HomeRSS">
        <control type="group">
            <animation effect="slide" start="0,70" end=" ... (continues)

Just insert the line:
Code:
<posy>-50</posy>

So it now looks:

Code:
<include name="HomeRSS">
        <control type="group">
            <posy>-50</posy>
            <animation effect="slide" start="0,70" end=" ... (continues)

This moves it UP 50 units (this skin is based on a 1280x720 screen so all positions are relative to those dimensions). Of course you can change -50 to some other value to suit your taste.

Do the same thing for the RSS section (here you can use a different value if you want). save your file and restart Kodi and give it a look.

I think this is a known Kodi problem. You might want to search in the Kodi general forum and see if there are threads on this.
