I like the name and it is very appropriate.
But one suggestion, can we perhaps get rid of the requirement that the names should be mythical places? I think there are now more exceptions than the rule [emoji1]
Perhaps the name should just be related to media that kodi allows consumption of, ie. movies, tv shows, music, games (retroplayer wink wink) etc.

Edit: I guess I can address the point as well. We did worry about that. As noted in the blog post, we have generally gone with the community vote. This was just a decision that felt right. And based on the overwhelming positive feedback of the community on the blogpost and in social media, I'm feeling pretty good about our decision.

@Billy goat - you're maybe confusing community with democracy?
We asked for input, but it was stated iirc that it was just that, nothing was binding and the final choice was up to the team.

Also, don't forget the context. The suggestions thread didn't lead to a decision and was reopened to try to lead to a decision. The unfortunate events made the suggested name stand out from the crowd of other suggestions.
I think it was a great choice and I wouldn't want some generic voted-in name instead, no matter how popular. This one has a meaning.

The tally of suggestions was taken a few days before the tragic death of Carrie Fisher, after that event the idea of a tribute wad raised not only within the Team but also from the Community on here, on the blog, and via social media, so it was decide to put it to a Team vote on this occasion.
Going by the overwhelming positive reaction, apart from a couple of naysayers, we would seem to have made the right decision, and I expect the +1's to soon eclipse the 95 times Loki got.
