When you click Settings - General I noticed it no longer has skin settings at the bottom under Weather.

Yes, it's missing. I'll release a bug fix version in a few days. In the meantime you can use: Settings -> Appearance -> Skin settings or you can bring up the quit menu (press 's') and choose Skin Settings. The skin settings item is also available in the Settings item submenu in the home screen.

I checked the forced view is not the intention.

Is there a way to individually set buttons on the main screen to display mode after pressing the (view mode)?
