v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)
(2016-07-20, 07:54)FernetMenta Wrote: For some reason your system forces deinterlacing which does not make much sense. That is a maximum stupid mode that should be removed. The question is why it got activated in this build.

I have deinterlace set to AUTO for all videos so not sure why it would kick on when not needed. Can I set deinterlace to none in TV and auto in live tv and will it stick separately or is that a full system wide setting like I think it is?

No, that's currently not possible, but:
I am not sure that's the case. The setting is per Video / channel. So 100% verify that this specific channel was not forced to ON by you, please.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
@fritsch: As i just saw your last posting here from a few minutes ago Angel. Are you already aware of the issue mentioned below?

@Milhouse: Any idea whats going wrong with Dolby TrueHD-Sound in cunjunction with audio passthrough since build #0626? Is it an issue with ffmpeg3.1?

I think this is probably one for @fritsch who may have an idea what is causing it.

We were able to reproduce using this sample: http://fritsch.fruehberger.net/samples/h...-DWEU.m2ts

It does not look like this. The code path that triggers this log:
ERROR: CMixer::InitCycle - interlace method: 1 not supported, setting to AUTO

is only executed if deinterlacing mode (not method) is set to on (forced)

I ran a test again this morning and ensured it was set to AUTO across the board for all files and then while playing the video I even turned it off which had no effect. I've uploaded a new log on #719 and also a video showing the OFF setting and the skipping frames in the background in the detailed on screen information. FYI I've always used AUTO/AUTO for this setting and let kodi decide when to deinterlace based on the material since I watch a good amount of live TV that is deinterlaced on my units.

Is this my side or the Librelec/Kodi side? I didn't change anything from #716 (working) to #717-#719 and the issues persist.

Kodi master has no issue. I guess something on LE side went wrong.

I see this in Ubuntu too, with latest Kodi master, so not specific to these builds: http://sprunge.us/QJTd (this is a totally "clean" .kodi - everything default. I only added a single entry to source.xml in order to load a local video)

Although the "not found" message is being output, if you change a setting in one of the dialogs it will be stored and subsequently loaded next time the dialog is opened, eg. set audio.volume to -20db and it will be saved/loaded despite the "not found" message appearing each time the Audio dialog is opened. So this looks like some weird behaviour of CSettingsManager that's always been there, but may only affect certain platforms (Fernet doesn't see this on OSX, I see it on Ubuntu and LE).

I've gone back to LE build #0601 and this CSettingsManager behaviour is the same there, so hasn't been introduced with build #0717 - build #0716 also has this same CSettingsManager behaviour.

Nobody really wants to decipher 4 or 5 random logs which may or may not contain any relevant error. Upload a single debug log.

The best way to upload a debug log is to enable debug logging, reboot, reproduce the error, then log in with ssh and run
Code:
cat /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log | pastebinit
and then finally, paste the url in this thread.

Based on the errors I saw in your first log before giving up, it looks like you're using a skin (Aeonmq5 Helixmod) that isn't compatible with Krypton so test only with Estuary.

You might also want to enable "Wait for network" in the LE Settings addon as it appears you don't have a network when Kodi starts.

Milhouse any thoughts here on the fix or is it kodi based for ubuntu? Not sure why #717+ is affected but tonight on #719 I started a fresh .kodi directory and still experienced it out of the box.

The CSettingsManager behaviour is the same on all platforms, FernetMenta was eventually able to reproduce on OSX also so this is almost certainly not the cause of your problem. We'll need to wait for FernetMenta to suggest a fix.

That did the trick !
Now pvr addon starts without error msg ...

strange that i didn't need that setting with kodi 16.1 ...

Thanks anyway for your help milhouse Smile
