Autostart on Ubuntu 12.10
#1
I have tried every method I can find to get XBMC to autostart but still can't get it working.

I tried changing /etc/X11/default-display-manager but just got a black screen.

Anyone got this working?

i get stuck at this step:

Install rcconf:
Code:
sudo apt-get install rcconf

I get :

rcconf needs dialog or whiptail.

log out, log in to the xbmc session. after that it should always boot to xbmc

I can see the xbmc session on the login screen and it logs in OK but XBMC still does not start.

If I reboot it goes into low graphics mode and I get a command line Sad

Think I will just go the XBMCbuntu route, thanks for the replies though
