myghalloween,
One minor thing I noticed... It makes things much easier if you don't have reserved/special characters (like periods) or spaces in your folder paths.
Example: N:\04.GamesLibrary\ROM Sets Nintendo NES\
Could be: N:\Games\Nintendo\NES
or
N:\04_GamesLibrary\Nintendo_NES_ROMS
Sorry, I don't speak French.

Hi Guys,
I've just started (re)setting up Advanced Launcher so that all game fanart/thumbnails are store on my new FreeNAS server but have struck a "Script Failed! addon.py" issue when loading new thumbnails/fanart.
A copy of my xbmc.log file can be access on http://pastebin.com/hEwHtDgH
The one line that sticks out to me is this: IOError: (22, "invalid mode ('wb') or filename", 'smb://NAS1/Media/XBMCData/Games/Thumbnails/bf3.exe_thumb.jpg' however this file is definitely created after the import process runs and fails with the error above.
If you could point me in the right direction for troubleshooting, that would be most appreciated!

Hey, I updated my steam script so it no longer kills steam, now it closes it gracefully, also now it timeouts if it can start an app without pausing XBMC, here are my scripts
These scripts pause XBMC so it's not consuming any resources while games are running. First my steam script:
All you need to do is point Advanced launcher to the script and use the Steam Id of the game you want to launch, you can find the ID by creating a steam desktop icon and checking it's properties. for it to function you need to have steam community in-game enabled as it will track for gameoverlayui.exe. Some steam IDs here.
The second one, a generic .lnk launcher, it will launch the game.lnk file you specify (no need to add .lnk to arguments) and will track any specific process you want it to track, remember to set the path to your launchers in the batch file itself on this line:
set launcher_path=C:\path\to\your\shortcuts\
Both scripts will log to c:\launcherlog.txt in case of an error, hope these are helpful
