I have the Zotac Zbox AD12 with 8GB stick of RAM and 64 GB SSD drive. MS Windows 7 loaded as the boot OS and XBMC 12 Frodo working great. Streams Blu-ray mkv files perfectly. I don't have a 3D TV but I have ripped some of my 3D movies and want to take it to a friend's house who has a 3D TV and see how well it plays those movies. I have Windows auto-log in with generic account and then auto-run the XBMC. Not too back of boot time to get to the main XBMC screen. I have no complaints about the Windows 7 performance on the AD12. It works great.
I had OpenElec XBMC running on it as well without any playback problems. Super fast boot time!
I am thinking of getting an Zbox ID82 (Intel i3) and setting up a dual-boot for Win7 and XBMC (linux-based). Since the ID82 has a faster processor and more RAM (16GB Max) for the Windows install. However, I think I will convert the AD12 back to just XBMC for simplicity reasons.

Appreciate all of the info as well, I did notice the ID42 this morning and might go that route once I look into it more, USB doesn't matter to me.
My main concern is still psysfaction mentioning that HD audio wasn't working properly with the AD12. Bitstreaming is a must for me, my entire collection is blu-ray. With the card that's in the AD12 I'm not sure why it would be a problem, but it's always possible it's something specific to the AD12 I guess. I know it's not bitstreaming as a whole because I do that perfectly with my PC right now.
One thing I really wish is that zotac would figure out their model naming, it's terrible and not intuitive at all.

Appreciate the info RamHawk, one last question, are the XBMC menu speeds and response times decent on the AD12 when running Windows 7? I've only ran it on a fast PC up until now and was curious if there was much of a difference on the lower end processsors.

It's pretty good with the default skin (Confluence) but the more advanced skins will slow down the response time.

I am searching for a low power pc to replace my desktop and my search brought me to zotac. I was wondering if anyone is using their Ad12 (or other Zotac) for web/email/chat on windows 7? It would be nice to move from my ps3 for mkv playback but I'm more concerned about surfing and chatting.
