Pivos Xios, Sumvision Cyclone Nano+, MyGica 510b. I've managed to get my hands on all 3, so which is the clone.
Answer, none of them.
These boxes are made by Geniatech, a Chinese company, who release it under their commercial arm as MyGica.
Sumvison have purchased these from Geniatech, re-branded and sold under their name.
Pivos have done exactly the same.
I have seen on other forums, even the Pivos official forum, stating that the Sumvision and the MyGica are clones of the Pivos, which simply isnt true. They are exactly the same box, from the same manufacturer, not a cheap clone. If this was the case, Pivos would be seeking legal action and you would not find them available from reputable retailers like ebuyer.
I know Pivos have locked down their Linux images, even the unofficial images built by users, to only work on their XIOS, and have a couple of XBMC devs working for them. But, in my opinion, it goes against the principles of what XBMC is, which is non profit, non commercial, open media software. Locking it forces people to Pivos, and in turn, becomes commercial. Are Pivos donating anything back to the community? If Pivos are to make money from xbmc, are they to pay every single contributor?
I know, you can say the Pivos devs are just protecting their work and product, but what about all the other developers who have worked on XBMC to get it the current stage, all the donors to the free project, all the testers and helpers on this forum and other forums and all the add-on creators. If Pivos want a protected media software that only works on their branded machines they should have built one from scratch.
All xbmc .exe should be available to all users of any product, not just tied down to a particular brand.
Now, I know many others may disagree with me, so take note, this is just my opinion.
My main point of this is don't be conned, the Sumvision and the MyGica are the same product, of the same standard of the Pivos, not some cheap clone as stated by many.
