While your looking at the axis code, maybe worth adding a speed limiter. Its totaly unusable in the XBMC GUI at the moment (moves multiple places with just a quick tap). I imagine its usually used for mouse use?

I used the GUI as an example. I figured that the same issue would arise while in game (in menus an such).

Fair enough. Games have their own built-in speed curves, and we can't detect menu vs. gameplay, so I'd recommend against games as a special case.

What about systems that support full axis controllers? It might be nice to be able to tune those per systemMaybe a default with over rides?
Also, the more stuff you expose to python, the more puppies get their wings... Or something. =)

Meanwhile on the iOS front....
Three months later and the XBMCHUB guys didn't help out jack squat (except for a lot of stonewalling and BS excuses from SecureCircle and that ABrasher guy) and we are still in need of an iOS device. When the constant stonewalling regarding sending a device over started to indicate to me that money was the issue, I even offered to plunk down 150 Euros of my own goddamn cash in order to buy a iPad Mini - but hey, 'too much money' they must have figured - 'gonna get it done for cheaper' - yeah - like - how? Because there isn't any way to get it 'done for cheaper' when iPad 2s and ATV 2s are hoarded and sold for max resell value and when you live in a country (like I do) with 21% VAT taxes and customs that would LOVE to slap some extra 'tax' on any item being shipped to you overseas.
Really, I'm not going to beg people to 'pretty-please' send me a device so that I can give them lots of free ports on Cydia. I might be crazy in that I am willing to forgo a lot of 'easy profits' for unselfish reasons, but I'm not stupid in that I am going to take money out of my own pocket to buy hardware specifically because a certain segment of people would want a free alternative to payware emus/games on iOS. If the interest is there and if one Apple fan is interested enough in something *good for the cause* to the point where he might give up on his fetishistic desires to 'sell his old outdated iPad/iPhone at max resell value' and instead give it to one honest dev, then do let me know.
If not, then know what? I am NOT going to take money out of my own pocket just like I did numerous times in the past before just because people love to get stuff for free - they can simply pay Broglia 4 bucks per emulator then on Cydia, I don't care. I did the 'take money out of my own pocket' game already with Xbox 360, PS3, and Blackberry, and know what? I think I have proven by now that I can get this job done and that I am passionate enough and capable enough to provide the goods - if people want RetroArch, the libretro ports and platform integration with XBMC IOS to happen, then they can help out all the same. There is an initial port to iOS, but an initial port is 20% of the work - it's the maintenance that is the other 80% - and it's the maintenance that takes up the obscene amount of time that nobody else except for nutty me would want to invest in that.
I see people raking in 500 dollars EVERY MONTH with a shitty N64 emu port and COMPLAINING about how they're getting 'too little in donation money' and yet one secondhand iOS device is 'TOO MUCH' to give? And for what? Because you Apple fanboys want to 'sell it off secondhand' for maximum cash?
If the iOS community doesn't care about improving the payware situation, then I won't care. Keep buying the frameskippy iOS ports on Cydia for 2/3/4 bucks per pop, forget about RetroPlayer integration on XBMC IOS and libretro ports being maintained with iOS support every day - let's just leave the situation exactly as-is.

Yeah so... not really the place to vent about someone not sending you something for free.
Idk what happened, but if you want to PM me or post on the xbmchub forums (where it's more appropriate), I'll be glad to figure out where it stands and if it's still an option. I know we've bought hardware for devs before for testing addons so that leads me to belive there's just a miscommunication somewhere

Mini-kickstarter! It would totally work. Give me a number, how much it would cost for getting you iOS dev hardware.
