[RELEASE] Cinema Experience - the new Home Theater Experience Script
(2013-05-24, 00:43)Chad711 Wrote: Here you go: http://pastebin.com/MBcH7GN2

Thanks for the quick response.

Just to explain what I have done so far.

1) Installed XBMC
2) Installed this program from the interface
3) d/l Frodo Version 3.0.3 and placed that in: C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\addons
4) Added button in the skin per Harro's post

edit: I also added some slides from a post I found into my documents folder and linked that folder in the CE settings.

That log doesn't show you trying to run the script. I was going to say that you need to update the script, but I see XBMC already did, Cinema Experience is available from the Official Repo now.

Can you run XBMC in debug mode and try starting the script from the info window again? Thanks...

That is the issue I'm running into, it doesn't start at all. When I click on "Cinema" button it gives me that addon.py error and a Search box comes up with the movie I am trying to use for the Cinema test.

Here is the 2nd log but I don't expect it to have anything else then the last. I may be missing a step in this process...do my steps I mentioned above look to be all I need to do?

http://pastebin.com/FdTgBxdS

Edit:

Do I need to do this step? If so this directory doesn't exist, not on my install. What is event ghost?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to queue more than 1 movie? I can Cinema Experience to plat 1 feature but cannot work out how to queue up more than that. Any help appreciated. Having a movie night tonight and I want to play 4 features.

Thanks

So, I've just installed and tried out this, and it looks promising!

I just have a little "glitch" that appears, but it's quite annoying. I start the script, select movie...and then, the main feature flicks by for a second or two before all the other parts run, except that, it seems to run flawlessly!

I ran it in debug, and you can look at the log here, at xbmclogs.

Thanks for an excellent addition to Xbmc!

Have you selected more than 1 feature in the config? If so, then you add them when running the script by pressing 0 on your remote or Q on your keyboard.

First you need to have a skin that supports Home Screen integration(Transparency! and Aeon MQ4 are two that come to mind). If using Transparency!, enable the skin setting - Integrate Cinema Experience in home movie menu buttons. If using Aeon MQ4, just need to press down on the Movies tab on the home screen then scroll to Cinema Ex(this is to activate in multi-feature mode)

In the addon settings you also need to have the Number of Features turned to the desired number.

This is actually normal to the 'Override Play Button' function. XBMC does not provide a method for addons to become 'players' so the addon uses a service script to watch for the Playing of a movie, then tries to stop it as fast as it can to start the full addon. This does sometimes cause the full screen video to pop up. This is because XBMC is starting the video. Otherwise you need to start the script from the Video Info screen or you the Multi-feature integration method to start the script.

Is there any other suggestions for my issue?

Disregard, I got it working now.

I'm still not sure what this step is or what it does? If you care to explain that would be great. I did not do this step since the folder path metioned in the directions does not exist. Maybe this is a old step that isn't needed now?

Tried posting to pastebin, but it said the file was too big. I am using Frodo 12.2 , CE 3.0.4 and Ace 1.6.0. I believe I have everything set right, and if I go to the info page of a movie and click the CE button everything plays fine. The problem I am having is if I start the script from the home screen in Ace, then queue 2 movies, my Trivia Intro file plays, but at the end of the Trivia Intro file it starts to flicker and then goes to a black screen, skipping the trivia. I can hear the second movie I selected playing and if I hit the Now Playing button it comes up. I have been through this tread and can't seem to find an answer, so I apologize if I may have missed.

Thanks for the report. This is a strange one. The problem is that when no music is selected for the trivia slide show, it starts the last queue movie. Not sure why this is happening yet.

Thanks for the insight Giftie. I think I tried everything, EXCEPT turning the music on lol. Made a music folder, plopped a music file in and everything is working perfectly. Keep up the great work, and hope you find the problem.

Now off to find some appropriate music for the Trivia. I don't think the Mrs. will appreciate listening to SlipKNot while watching lol Anyone have some suggestions?

For music I use Vitamin string quartet. Not offensive, but still satisfies the rock gods

If anyone is interested I created 10 slides for the movie Stark Trek: Into Darkness.

low quality examples:

The download includes all 10 slides in high quality, a template PSD for creating your own slides for the movie, and the font I used.

DOWNLOAD HERE.

I'm having some sort of issue that I can't seem to figure out. I'm trying to use some slides that I found.

I have them in a file structure as such ./Cinema/Trivia/Q&A. I also have a Still folder in ./Cinema/Trivia/Stills that is empty.
I have pointed CE to ./Cinema/Trivia

Now anytime I queue a movie, nothing happens. It doesn't start playing. When I disable the Trivia Slideshow, everything works and everything else plays just fine
.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here's the log: http://pastebin.com/j08P9CEb

There is a bug in the script, actually it's in the naming of the Skin folder for the script. The folder is named 'default' it should be named 'Default'( notice the Capital D ).

The folder is in ~/.xbmc/addons/script.cinema.experience/resources/skins/ Renaming it from default to Default( if you don't know how to in Linux, an easy way is to move the folder -> mv default Default )
