If you are willing to play, you can try converting skin to 720 (there's windows tool for that and you may have other means to do it) and test. If there would be measurable difference I can convert the skin. This will probably brake layout to some extent but it will do for testing purposes. Again, I don't have ANY non-beefy HW around to test myself.

I have yet to take a look at Confluence code to see what's making that difference but it is nice to hear rope bar performs as good as 2fps spinner! Many thanks for helping out.

The Raspberry has problems rendering the GUI at 1080p, so xbmc forces it to render at 720p (see http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Raspberry_Pi/FAQ#Output).

I don't think there's a problems at 1080, it's just a matter of GUI performance on low level hardware. You can turn on true 1080 GUI in RaspBMC settings and see it for youself.
Amber is a very fast skin, it was always comparable to Confluence. I started to use it as a Quartz Reloaded since the first alfas of RaspBMC and still using it. And i think i still gonna use it with my new Q190 Smile. So, RPi user, if you are not happy with GUI performance on RPi, try to install system on fast USB key instead of SD card, try to OC RPi to something higher than 900/500. That's how you get real performance gain.

I do have to say I use 720p resolution for XBMC UI. 1080p is in my opinion overrated (for UI, not for actual videos ofcourse). It looks very good.

Just to clear thing up

what we are talking about here is how to workaround problem with DialogBusy (spinning wheel) on RPi. And popcornmix is saying that in this dialog Confluence with workaround implemented is quicker that Amber.
My skins:

How about adding the watched icon in all the views?
Now there are some views that don't show watched icons. (especially tv-shows and seasons)

For your previous problem with visibility of the watched icon as overlay on posters/banners:
Add a transparent banner like you did with episodes? Or change the watched icon's color to the yellow colour?

And may I ask why filtering does not work for you? Left side menu "show:unwatched"

Yes. It's even more specific than that. This is launching video with curl/json with the initial xbmc home screen (with the video option central) displayed.
Because the busy dialogue updating causes the whole background to be re-rendered, the numbers will vary depending on what's present in the background.

Launching a video from file menu with little on screen will be quicker than launching a video from a library screen showing lots of info/artwork.

I'm not suggesting Confluence is quicker in general (I've switched to Amber at home as it's generally smoother), just that there is a specific example where it is which might be useful to understand.
Vertical menu looks really great. I don't personally quite understand where horizontal menus are needed.

Because for example in TvShows menu I want to have a quick view of what shows have been totally watched and which have not.
And not take time to set filters for unwatched and back to all..
Hello

Thanks for a great skin! Is there any reason why the "0"s look different?
Image
is there a setting / xml config that can be changed so the power menu dialog doesn't appear? i.e. shutdown, quit buttons etc

VIdeos is always the focused item when returning to the vertical menu. I think usability would improve if it would remember the focused item like the horizontal menu does.

It would be nice to see album years in the media views where it's possible and there's space to to add them. I often listen to albums starting from the oldest and proceeding to the next. If i'm not really familiar with the artist i do not know this information.

Do you think the new busy dialog, both the graphic and the font could be a bit smaller? They look huge on a 92" screen.
Wow!

Well one would say everything is huge on 92" screen - I belive watching porn on it might bring one napoleon syndrom :)
First of all, love the skin, it's really great! Smile

1) I have a playlist (to randomize movies) set as favourite, and i was trying to add it to the main menu, but after i've done that it starts a movie instead of showing of showing the playlist. Is it possible toi change that?

2) In the movies view mode "list" can we have the option to have movie scores together with the titles?
And in tv shows shows in the mode "list" the number of unwatched eps. like in the banner mode?

3) On the shelf options could you add other options like "in progress" tv shows instead of new series, and maybe random movies instead of new movies.

4) Still in shelf could we be able to add favourites along with the add-ons? (On vertical view, they show up nicely, but not on horizontal view)

5) On the player could you down the opacity just a bit, i normally use subtitles and that would help a bit when the menu shows up not to cover completely the subs.

EDIT: 6) On vertical mode, every time i've enter a menu and go back, the third menu is always the one getting highlighted. For example if i enter in "tv shows" and go back, the selected menu will not be the tv shows but will be the "add-ons" for example. This only happens in vertical mode, for every menu except "favourites" that stays in "favourites" if i go back.

Thank in advance, you're awesome!
+1 on #4 and #5, but we already been there Smile
