how can we tell if the playlist widgets are hammering the box?

Somewhere I saw a post that a user was getting stutters every 10 minutes or so whenever the widgets content was refreshed, can't find the post to recheck - but curious to see if anyone notices something similar.

Zero clue if it's at all possible but if you could filter by GPU type that would be a better indicator. XBMC displays this in the system information section.

The R-Pi uses an uncommon Broadcom GPU so it would be pretty easy to filter by that, a huge amount of the AndroidTV set top boxes use the Arm Mali 400 GPU (varying from 1-4 cores) so tagging that shouldn't be a problem either.

Plus some of the low end boxes don't always use Android, the Pivos XIOS and The Little Black Box both use linux/xbmc firmwares. There are higher performance GPU's in Android hardware land it's just they haven't yet worked their way down to the AndroidTV box level yet except in rare cases like the Ouya.

Hmmm, no, what I seem to need if I understand correctly is the "Enable Music Visualisation FanArt" option from the Skin (will this show Artist/Album FanArt on the Music FullScreen?), so that I can still have the normal default Screensaver take over after a preset time (black in my case, to preserve the Plasma TV). Im re-reading your post here about Path Settings: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1453760 but I cant seem to get it to work I must be doing something wrong

This might be a slightly dumb question, but what is the actual difference between Service.Skin.Widgets, and the built in Recents Widget? Just the fact that Service.Skin.Widgets is configurable?

Basically plus more content items. CCM uses Service.Skin.Widgets if it's installed, which it should be as it installs with CCM. if not uses XBMC's supplied internal stuff.

- Does Playlist Widget Script just provide the same type of functionality (ie: a Recent/Random Widget) but for any Playlist Home Menu item that its used on?

Yep puts up a widget if it can. Example is on a default install - the Unwatched Movies widget on top of the Videos menu item and the widget on top of the default "Family" menu item.

Think I've disabled it ATM for music as script had a few issues - Need to check I've forgotten Also it doesn't like some TVShow type playlists - again I need to check.

If you've got a playlist as a main menu item, when setting the widget there should be a "Playlists" item

- Now that I have Music set up, Suggested and Random Album Widget doesnt seem to work for me (Recent does) NB: MySQL Library. Do I need to configure something?

Suggested Albums, is slightly mis-named - Should be Most Played Not sure with MySQL, haven't used it since it very first was mentioned. You do need to make sure you've added the source to the library on the left slide window on Music page.

That was a request from a week or two back. It's mainly used for artist fanart eg individual artists on a compilation cd. point it to the parent folder that houses all your music.

Mine is nfs://192.168.0.20/Music/ Under this folder called "Music" on my server I have individual folders for each artist which then holds folders for each of their albums

For me its always the same images, and since I just imported the Library, its all made up of the same 10 Albums (starting with letters X, Y, Z), when there are actually hundreds of Albums in the Library.

You need to have a central directory with all the Album Thumbnails in it & also the path "Album Thumbnails" set to it. Use something like script.artwork.organizer by ronie to copy the artwork. Also the AddOn CD Art Manager gets you logos & CD Art

- If I am trying to save processor by not using a Visualisation (xbmc visualisations look like something from 1975 anyway...) why cant I just have a 'big' CoverArt in Music FullScreen? Or didnt Eden (or your Eden Skin) display the big red xbmc logo (like is used for the Login Screen)? I cant remember, didnt it used to move around the screen?

Yep I remember that, actually the same image. Now I'm HiTech and the default image is a bunch of your CD covers splashed on the screen. In other words I lifted Aeon Nox Live CD Background & slightly modified it to use as a music viz background (BTW thanks to Nox)

Artist fanart if enabled moves around the screen if you want.

I just leave Music viz on, but I only use Waveform as I agree with you over the others. I probably should do something about hiding the static stuff as some people are worried about screen burn in. another day

Some users with addon screensavers have had an issue or 2 with CCM but if you find one you like we can make sure it works.

First question - This MOD only reports what your database says, so you can't reset things like that.
Second Question - Also No.

But you've got me interested, what skin were you using & how or why did you reset the date of a film also why do you want to want to enter info about file sizes & where would you display it.

My Music Library is all working fine with MySQL (so, yes, library is source is added), just not the Suggested & Random Widgets. Recent works.

Ok, but what will it actually do after pointing it to my Music folder (same structure as yours). Pull an Artist .jpg that is manually put there for a compilation Album (because the scraper hasnt found it) ?

Ok, thanks. Now I know why my wall is the just the most recent, its defaulting to the widget. However, dont we already have a central directory - the Thumbnails folder? I have Thumbs and FanArt all downloaded into there. If I use yet another scraper, to set a different central directory, wont they all be downloaded again (so Ill have 2 sets: "Thumbnails Folder" + "Central Directory"?)

Maybe I have a fundemental error with my setup (using the default Universal Scrapers). I would prefer to have an alternative Central Direcectory since Im using MySQL anyway

So "Enable Music Visualisation FanArt" only works as Home Screen Background FanArt? Maybe misunderstood I thought it meant that the Artists FanArt.jpg would be displayed when in FullScreen mode - its not correct?

Divided opinion on that one, some guys don't like it, some do including me
Will look to see if it'll fit in - this MOD has panels where Hybrid hasn't.

I'll be updating Hybrid soon - have started on the menu system, and will probably use this MOD except for home page which will basically stay as it is.

Thanks for the reply Mudislander. The first mean in the future if you were going to reset the date on film information or if there is a way to view it without having to modify the files I have many. The second question I meant the ability to display next to the movie information such as audio and video title also the size of the file being played. Thank you again.

quick question, are all the skin settings in the 1 file guisettings.xml?

my bloody android box keeps losing all my skin settings and putting me back to confluence. i just want to make sure that my attempt at recovery is correct. i should just copy my original backed up guisettings.xml over the new blank one?

because thats what im doing and it seems to work great until i reboot.

Mudislander: I have a suggestion regarding episodes widget. I don't know if this is already possible, but it will be good if we can have only the episodes that we need to watch. In other words, having the first unwatched episodes, but only of the shows that are in progress.

@Mudislander: One small thing:

- If I have Enable On Screen Volume Buttons switched ON, I see the Volume slider at top right
- But, if I also switch on Enable Larger Volume Adjustment Jumps, then the functon works, but I no longer see the Volume Slider

Is this a bug, or do I have something misconfigured?
