Thanks V much Krusty for this addon best PVR I have tried so far, but I have several problems if you or the community would be kind enough to help a noob

Hd channels are the problem. They all have choppy playback but work fine through WMC. Also they intermittently don't connect at all saying 'no video data on that channel'. Soooo frustrating as the non hd work great!

Also a really wired issue is that some channels have an audio description voice no doubt for the visually impaired?

My set up is win x86, i7, gtx670 so grunt is not an issue, I am using Margot xbmc 12.2 frodo.

Thanks for your great work on this.
I have one issue at the moment. I have one group of channels (SBS TV in Australia) that will not play on XBMC. When I try to watch SBS an error appears saying that the stream did not contain video. Every other channel works within XBMC.
I can watch SBS with no problems within WMC7. I can schedule a recording of SBS from within XBMC with no problem and watch the recording with no problem in XBMC.

Wierd, but annoying.

I really need the log from the server side not from the xbmc side. So start the server, try to start this channel, after it fails go to the debug tab in the server and get the log file. Paste this log file into pastebin.com and put the link to it here.

Please recreate the problem, then open the ServerWMC window, click on the 'Debug' tab, click 'Open current log file' copy the entire text file that opens to the clipboard. Then go to pastebin.com, paste the copied contents and click 'Submit' at the bottom. Pastebin will then display the page now containing the contents of your paste. Copy the link from the address bar and paste it here. We need both the XBMC and ServerWMC logs to properly see what's going on. I think I already know but need this info to confirm. (And if I'm wrong, Krusty will need it to further diagnose.)

If you are in Europe there is a known problem with some hd channels playing with a stuttering or choppy playback. A ticket for this has been submitted to xbmc, and it looks like they will address this in gotham, but so far as I know a fix is not yet in their nightly builds. Also on some of the HD channels there was a bug in my code that made them fail to start, a fix for this will be in the next release of my server software.

I am intrigued by the channels with an 'audio description voice'. If you can reproduce this, I'd appreciative it if you can get me an example wtv file Go to the debug tab and turn off 'delete temporary files'. Then watch a channel that has this audio problem for a minute or two, then stop it. Got to the tempxbmc folder in your 'recorded tv' folder and find the wtv file there, give it to me by putting it here:

hi kr, i have managed to get recorded tv to playback on the pi. very inconsistently but i'll look into those problems in due course. i must have deleted that first / when i was editing out my username. it seems the problem is playback on the pi. i need to do some testing to see whether its the same through the pvr plugin as it is through the video section, but i'm away for a few days now.

also update on the ts stutter bug. its been confirmed as a bug in Gotham Alpha and now showing as milestone Future / Pending => 13.0. we're on 12.2 at the moment aren't we? sounds promising!

I found a fix for the error that stops streams from starting on some avc/h264 broadcasts in the UK. It works on the files you sent me (it will be in the next release). If the xbmc team can fix the stuttery playback in the ts files, we should be good.

This is the failed to start problem I mentioned, it happens here:
Remux::FindDescriptors> error: System.Exception: Exceeded bit reading capacity: 40
this will be fixed in the next release.

Can you produce a file with the audio problem?

In my testing there is no relation between audio and the stuttering problem. The stuttering bug ticket submitted to the xbmc team is here:

If i manually put the computer to sleep, and then turn on live tv - through xbmc settings, windows automatically wakes up which is great. But I was wondering if there was anyway to put windows to sleep, even if live tv is turned on, but I'm not watching anything.

I tried looking through the setting of the pvr client, backend and xbmc live tv settings. the only thing that stood out was epgupdate set to 120 min. But I have windows sleep set to 10mins, so it should have gone to sleep. I checked the windows system logs, and it indeed does not go to sleep.

So when you enable live-tv on the pi, the server wakes up. But then when the pi is just sitting there idle (with live-tv enabled), the server never goes to sleep, right? Funny because I could have sworn another user was reporting just the opposite problem. If you turn off the pi (or put the pi to sleep?, do they sleep?), does the server go to sleep then?

A trick for finding out what is keeping a windows machine from entering sleep mode is to open a cmd.exe window as admin, and enter this command:
powercfg -requests

thats cool, understood i was more thinking of looking at why playback was so inconsistent on the pi. it doesn't seem to be only this issue. some play fine, others don't at all but there's another batch that look like they are playing (counter comes up and the menu goes monochrome) but no video starts. do you think its all part of the same issue or worth looking at. cheers
