Krusty, Yes, at least having the ability to schedule recordings for those channels would be great. If you have any modified coded I'd be more than willing to give it a try. I got a log from starting a Live TV stream on a working channel and uploaded it to http://pastebin.com/RH0SFGr6 as requested. Let me know if you need anything else. I have spent quite a bit of time reading through the thread, first forward and then backwards once I realized some of the info may have been outdated. I am currently looking to build a htpc for the first time and of course will be running XBMC. I would like to include a cablecard in the computer so I can ditch my DVR box. I have heard really good things about the Ceton InfiniTV 4 but, it doesn't appear there is much support out there in the PVR side of things. I would like to run the cablecard on my HTPC for now and if I am using the Ceton then I will most likely end up using WMC as my backend software. Has anyone tried running the cablecard in the HTPC itself and using XBMC to control it? Would I need both the server and client downloaded on the pc? I would prefer to not have to jump out of XMBC when I want to watch TV. Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I purchase anything.

I can't comment on the hardware specifics, hopefully someone else reading this can. But some easy stuff I do know: To use wmc as the backend, you will need the server running on the same machine as wmc, you will need the client addon&xbmc on all the machines you want to view content - which can be, but doesn't have to be, the machine that has wmc installed. Also its important to set expectations: xbmc can't view copy protected content.

I think maybe you should take it there. Maybe Dilligaf has some input.

I have a workaround you can try, in the config.xml file look for:
<Debug_RemuxAllRecordings>false</Debug_RemuxAllRecordings>

change this value to true, then save and restart the server. Try the channel again on the pi and see if it works.

This setting is normally only used for debugging, it tells the server to remux all wtv files to 'ts' before sending them to the client. Since you say it works when you view it live I am assuming that's why. Please let me know if it works.

yeah they all start with that change made. well, im happy with this as a workaround but i guess it needs fixing properly. diligaf, should this go to raspbmc or raspberry pi forums?

You could try, it looks like a codec issue. The person who could definitively tell you would be Popcornmix/Dom

Do you have the VC1 codec?? Could you grab a Mediainfo on a file that has the problem.

I just tried this wtv file in the linux version and it works fine (except for the stutter). Its weird that the rpi plays it if it is remuxed to 'ts'.

I have 3 tuners... One is a dual with analog and digital. The other is digital only. The analog has my cable connection and both digital have OTA. All channels work in WMC, but in XBMC only the analog cable channels work. When I try the digital OTA channels I get the following error (The requested resource is in use.):

It looks like some software somewhere has locked up a tuner. Verify again that you can use all these tuners in wmc for live-tv, if it still doesn't work after that, try rebooting the server. If it still fails, post the full server log on pastebin.com and post a link here.

The dual tuner has analog and digital (two inputs) but cannot use both at the same time. WMC switches between the two signals pretty seamlessly. Through XBMC the WMC server software is not dropping one tuner to access the other and its also not trying to access the other, digital-only, usb tuner. I disabled the digital on the dual tuner and I am using it as analog only.

Now everything is working fine. I have the dual as analog only and two digital only USB tuners. The server software just seems to be having trouble telling that dual tuner what to do. I'm fine with this... I have about 5 usb tuners of various models.

I see now, thanks for explaining and sorry I didn't read it closely. Looking at the log you posted yesterday, it looks like you first set the tuner to an analog channel, and then tried to switch to the digital channel, right? I don't understand why the analog tuner wasn't released when you tried to start the digital one. Was there another client viewing the analog channel?

I assume it never tried the single digital tuner because it kept crashing before it ever got to it. So I would like to figure this out just using this dual tuner. Are you willing to work through this or do you just want to stick to what you have now?

Who is your TV provider? If I go into WMC would I be able to record the premium channels so I can watch them later? I understand I would still need to use WMC for those channels. Thanks for the info.
