Done. I had to create new files because I had "delete temporary files" unchecked in ServerWMC, and it wasn't putting any files into tempxbmc\savedfordebug. Also I noticed that in XBMC, Duplicate channel entries are created. For instance, channel 4 is shown twice in TV channel view. The first one represents the DVB-T tuners and the second one represents the qam tuners. Neither channel works. These channels are merged in WMC. I sent you both the resulting files from tempxbmc\savedfordebug. I should also mention that the duplicate channel issue goes away in timeline view (timeline view causes xbmc to hang though). Thanks.

The audio problem was easy to solve, live-tv will work for you now. Apparently you are the first guy who has tried to remux AAC - weird that it hasn't come up before. Glad you sent in the files! I have the fix integrated into the stuff I am working on now, if you are desperate to try it, I could give you an experimental build. Otherwise it will be in the next server release - I hope by this weekend.

I'm not sure what to do about the same channel being listed twice, my software differentiates the channel by tuning space - even though in your case it is exactly the same channel in two difference spaces. I will think about merging them, but are sure you don't want to choose what tuner to use when you watch one? What do others think? Possibly I could make merging them an option in the server.

Lastly, I am not sure why your epg is crashing, but I really doubt it is something I am doing. If you can reproduce exactly what happens when it crashes that might help. Also you could experiment with how much data you fetch from the server in the xbmc settings.

Spaceboy, I thought you said this only happened on one of your bbc channels. Does it really happen on every large wtv file?? For wtv, 5GB is not that large.

So you can reproduce this on your pi? All large files crash? Btw, I have my pi now but haven't set it up yet.

Anyway if the problem is that serious, I will definitely enable a remux-to-ts play option in the server.

but you are correct, that view doesn't really fit with what i have seen. it happens on all 4 BBC channels whether in HD or SD and obviously some of the SD recordings are fairly small. So when i get home tonight i'll spend a bit more time testing. i guess what i need to try and do is get a couple of minute clip which won't play on the pi and is therefore quite small. if i can find one of these then it shows these are separate issues

Yeah, I think some short clips on these channels would be good to submit.

Thanks for explaining the radio thing, it get it now. When you play these pseudo-radio channels in wmc, they work? In other words, you can play and record them? If you can record them, and you are still in the testing mood when you get home, can you make me a short clip from the radio channel that I can look at? Put it on my google drive if you can.

If you don't mind, I would like to try an experimental build.

Pertaining to the merging of channels, I like the channels merged, (that's just me though). I just like to choose a channel and know that wmc will take the first available tuner out of the 7 I have available (mixture of DVB-T & QAM tuners). I have no real need (at least none that I can think of) to have the tuners separated. Again, that's just me. Maybe there is a need, I am just missing it.

I am working on tweaking the settings in XBMC for the epg guide for my timeline view issues. I will report back on this.

First I'd like to say fantastic work. I have been looking for a solution like this for some time. I am unfortunately having issues. I cannot get Live TV working. I get the "No data on channel' error. Viewing recorded TV works fine. My setup is kind of unique. I am using DVBlink software with virtual tuners with colossus cards as well some qam cards. I am running XMBC Frodo using mysql. Everything works fine in WMC. I see a couple other people (in this thread) are using DVBlink with HDPVR boxes and having success, so I don't know why I cannot get this to work. Also, my guide, when in timeline view locks up XBMC. I don't know if any of this is related. I am running a local client on the same PC as ServerWMC. ServerWMC seems to be working, its making connections where it should (I think), It is pulling data (channels, epg entries, recordings, etc). I have checked the logs and they keep stating:

It looks like it is crashing because it is finding an audio subtype that we haven't encountered before. Go to your recorded tv folder and look in:
tempxbmc\savedfordebug

hopefully in this folder you will find this file:
LiveTV_mediacenter_DVB-T_4_2013_10_30_20_31_52.wtv

The words "Digital Audio Service" are not generated by DVBLink but by WMC!

But I'm not sure if these channels have a specific database setting in WMC, like "Radio" or "Television".

To make sure its really the same thing, start the server, try to start a live tv stream, after it fails get the server log (see debug tab in server).

Thanks to you and spaceboy for the radio files. I am curious if there is a way to detect this in the database too. Since obviously I can't reproduce it here, I might make a special build that you could run that would print out gobs of channel data in the log. If I can detect it, I might be able to route it to radio rather than video (not sure if that's an advantage though). We have other stuff to finish first though. I'll let you know.

I actually think you could move the wtv files into a hierarchical structure and wmc will just ignore it and continue listing as it does now - just based on metadata. I haven't messed with this a lot and I don't know if wmc will still delete files past their expiration if you do this, but I bet it would. You are right that you can't do anything about the file that is being recorded to, but moving it after its done recording I think would work. My inclination though would be to leave the wmc directory alone if possible.

I think it would be nice to have more sort features in xbmc too, but that is an xbmc thing, we can't control that in the addon. Best ask for this feature from the xbmc team.

Then it may not need to be moved. I just noticed something in the recordings listing. The episode name is not being shown. Just the series name. I am guessing because only the series name is used in the file name. The meta data will need to be read from the wtv file. If I can get a copy of the source, I would be happy to ive it a look.

I only use the metadata - not file data - in xbmc, so I do the same thing wmc does. It depends on your skin (I assume) whether the episode name is visible in the recordings listing. That's why I made a display option (see tab) to append the episode to the series title - that's the way I roll in my xbmc.
