- Showcase view
- Support for script.metadata.actors
- Boring fixes in the background
I'll try to merge all the changes from 2.0.0 and 2.0.1 to the Frodo version tomorrow.
How do I get the metadata actors to work please? I have 2.0.1 running on Gotham A8. I installed the actors script from your repo. There is no "Biography" button like I've seen on the Aeon skin that supports the actors script.
Thanks for all of your great work!

Click the default cast button. If you have the add-on installed the default cast information is replaced with a vertical thumbnails. Clicking on the thumb lists all library content for that person, and clicking on the name launches the add-on.
You can also click on the director and writer fields to launch the add-on. In Frodo version you can use context menu in actors and directors view to show additional information.
I'm not taking any credits for these btw, I used the code that was available and only changed the widths, textures and positioning for the cast panel.

Clicking on "cast" brings up square cast pictures. Clicking on an image shows the "Search results", not the actor info.
Update: This is interesting... On my test machine, I am running Gotham 8. I just tried to install Confluence Modified 2.0.1 on my main system running Gotham 7 and your repo listed the skin as "broken"... dependancies not met!
I copied the skin folder manually (and the other required scripts). That worked.
Now to see what's going on with the actors addon...
I wanted to add, after reading through the entire "[RELEASE] Add-on Metadata Actors" thread, I tried to run the addon (script) directly... it does nothing!

@SpaceMonkey I was recommended to try out your skin by Ned Scott.
I'd like to create a main menu button that would launch into a filtered "Library" specifically for my kids movies. I know I can add tags or movie sets achieve this but the issue is that I don't want to just point the button to view a specified folder (as files) because I don't want to manage .nfo files. Hence why I'd like to create a filtered Library similar to the native movie and tv shows libraries which scrape for content.
Hope this makes sense.
Is this even possible?
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks
JB

There are too many changes still going on in Gotham, I suggest to use Frodo for now. But I think you need Alpha 9 at minimum.

You can use either a smartplaylist or a video node, both can be assigned to menu in CM. Check the XBMC wiki for more info.
I think you could perhaps use favourite as well. Normally favourites are used for add-ons, and directories where you have random content that is not in your library. But I think adding the kids movies directory to favourites, and then putting that favourite as menu item CM should give you pretty much same view as in movie library.

Is possible return of "favourites" menu option as button, not as small harder to find star?

All is well with Metadata Actors!
I was clicking on the actor image, not the "Actor Name" above the images.

Can someone help me with 3 issues?
I've just downloaded this confluence modified, and it's fantastic - really like it!
Issue 1:
Movie plot summaries are not showing, and it only seems to show for 3 movies which I have just scrapped today using Ember Media Manager.
Not sure if there is any issues with the scraper, might have to try scrape them again - but if someone can give some feedback regarding this would be great? As it is frustrating not having the plot summaries.
Update: tested it using the XBMC's default skin and it's not showing up either apart from the ones I did today.
Issue 2:
i.e movie called "The Adjustment Bureau, is sitting in the A's yet it has "the" in-front, shouldn't it be sitting by the T's?
Issue 3:
How do I change the Main Menu Font colour from White to Yellow?

Check that your NFO contains the plot/plotoutline - Ember has had problems recently getting the right plot information from imdb.

Depends whether you have "Ignore articles when sorting (eg. "the")" enabled or not in Settings -> Appearance -> File lists.

go to userdata/addons/skin.confluence.modified/language/italian
open the file "string.po" and overwrite the content with this:

then save and restart xbmc.

Thanks for the info Milhouse
I've re-scraped the NFO files using an update to EMM and it seems to be working; probably should of checked the EMM forum first, but for those of you who come across this see: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=165012
