XBMC isn't reading some movies
#1
Hi, i've installed this program yesterday, and let it run and "do" the movies I have in one disk, they are all in folders and the majority of them is like: moviename (BR) folder or moviename(BR +), and those movies, that have (BR) in the folder name don't show up neither go to the library, XBMC just don't "detect" them... Is there any way to solve this? (Both the movies, like "moviename (BR).avi" have (BR) in their names)

Instead of (BR) in the name, name them like this:-

moviename (year).BluRay.avi... Works for me.

I think you can omit the (year) and it won't affect it.

Yeah, but in one disk, there are over 2000 movies, and it only detected 500, so, 1500 movies I've to change the name and the folder name, in only 1 disk with 2TB, missing other 5 disks, including 2 disks with 3TB, having the same issue.

Debug log of you doing a scan.

Also give example of your folder / files structure

I'm assuming you are using folder name for the lookup? if so having (BR) in it will cause you a few issues, likewise having the year in it twice might cause a few issues with some titles.

Yes I am, I think having twice the year isn't a big issue, but the problem really is having (BR) in the name...

But, if there isn't any way possible to make XBMC get tat (BR) is a country like (xxxx) is a year, is there any program that changes the name folders quickly, just replace "(BR)" for "" (I guess that's possible even with a .bat file)

I don't use it, but something like http://www.therenamer.com should work for you.

Either that or you could quite easily setup a quite batch script to rename the folders

The movie is not called "2010 - moby dick" it is called "moby dick".

Also there are many films named "the child" but I can't see one on tmdb released in 2006. I assume you should rename it to 2005. And again, drop the 666.

666 - the child (2006) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0783492

tmdb finds it too, the issue is (BR) in all of his titles

Ah ok, maybe I should have gone past the first page of the search results! To be fair I searched on 666 and didn't get it. Maybe it needs to be 666:

The (BR) shouldn't matter.
