I have no friggin' clue - but I'm glad it's doing whatever it's doing. I'm still getting kicked every 5 minutes or so. I've tried different games and it still happens on both my linux box and my Pi. I'm gonna turn on debugging and post a log. Maybe someone who's more proficient with this stuff might be able to see what's going on there.

Check and make sure you did not save the hosts file as a .txt file, it should have no extension.

Glad you were finally able to get your hosts file edited. Watching a few minutes at a time is frustrating though.

My debug log is here. Hopefully someone with better eyes than mine can find something in there.

If I use PC browser to watch NHL GameCenter Live for any live Montreal match, there is an extra French/Français feed beside the Home/Away feeds. Is it possible to add another button/feed Français on live game to play French channel feed for Montreal games?

Can you watch the streams in one of the official Gamecenter apps?

There is no French stream when watching live Montreal game using Android/iOS GameCenter app.

Another feature you might try to add is the Highlight game feature beside the condensed game as I see it has in the GameCenter app.

So I try to use browser to watch the Montreal game in French and check with Fidder2 to see the URL.

There is a similar stream and path having nhlfr ==> fr = French. Look like it is possible to include a French stream for Montreal live game.

Game Highlight/Recap has a fixed URL and anyone can watch it without credentials needed. This stream can be open as Network Stream in VLC too...

Make sure that you saved the hosts file withou extension and also that the line you added isn't commented out with a #.

I read reddit and played with plugin last night.
On reddit there is a site that posts links to neulion streams which will work in iOS devices(there are also links for embedded vlc which is using AppleTV user-agent)
I've added in your plugin a quick hack to use their link to download m3u8 file instead of neulion and it worked!
Carb0 may be you could use those links instead? Or may be you could understand better what they are doing with m3u8 file to make it work?

Sorry I can't be of much help with windows 8.1 since the only windows system I have access to runs XP and it doesn't even have XBMC on it. I did edit the hosts file on it once and I used Notepad++ to do it. Might be worth trying that if you haven't already. Also, I did find this article, which says in 8.1 windows defender will automatically replace a modified hosts file, and explains how to keep that from happening.

It is very easy to check if you enter it in hosts file correctly or not

Open a DOS cmd prompt and type ping nlsk.neulion.com . If there is a reply from 192.241.136.149 then you entered it OK.

By default, Windows hide the file extension and you might save it to the hosts.txt instead of hosts file. You can check the box 'File name extensions' of the View menu of File Explorer.
