I tried Unlocator for free for a few days, then decided for a cheap paid one with AdFreeTime for 2.30$ a month.So far no hassle. Just need to get freecable and hulu addons working again.

I was playing around with the add on free cable... When I go to channels like A&E and select a show like Bates Motel the folder is empty. I am seeing this for a ton of shows. Is this normal?

I have yet to find anything to watch on this beta build or another build. So I am curious if this add on even works anymore

Nothing, I thought some of the channels like ABC worked without the geo lock? Or used to a couple of years ago anyhow?

Is that one free at all or only for a short time period before having to foot the $4.99 a month? Not sure that would be worth it as I only use it for FreeCable.

Doesn't default to Tunlr, but I believe the settings are saved external to the addon.
The only site I know of that doesn't geoblock in some way is nbc, and that isn't true of newer content.
Smart dns proxy is free, if they start charging I will use something else.
The log looks like a geo block message.
Saying that for abc it may be possible to bypass the geoblock transparently. If it's possible it'll be in the next release.

By all means if someone wants to add real-debrid as a connection type they are welcome to.
I won't be doing it because it's a paid service and I for now there are now still free dns proxies that work.
More importantly, as far as I can tell it supports, abc, cbs, thecw, that' a very small selection of what free cable provides access to. I don't use the service so could be wrong.

I've updated the scraping code but the SMIL xml has not base so im not sure what to use...

The Daily show seems to be broken with 0.7.6 tonight, March 17, 2014. Yesterday worked fine. Colbert Report works even now.

I have an update of nbc similar to killerkiwi2005's code but based on the last working beta version. Will be in the next release.
Putting &manifest=m3u on the end gives hls streams which are playable. Only works for new content though for older ones need to get the clipId and use that in the original code.

Can't get any subtitles on CBS shows. When I try the closed caption Link [1] I can see the Subtitles, but they are not parsed...
Can it be a geoblock issue? I am using unlocator...

There is an nbc update on its way that uses the new site api.

Subs are enabled in this addon settings and enabled everywhere I can find it.
However, shows do not show subs/captions.

Which version of the addon and what shows have you tried?

I have a testing script to if you would like it, it loads all the modules from command line and checks for valid data from each one
