Is an ion based machine, so should be fine for openelec. Not the most recent if machines, would be surprised if you could fine one new.

I've setup a bunch of 1012P Eeeboxes to run XBMC over the past half decade. They run very smoothly without issues. I purchased the barebones editions for around $200 and put 4 GB RAM and a 64 GB SSD in them (total cost maybe $400.) (They could probably do fine with half the ram and definitely a 16 GB SSD.) I run Ubuntu 12.04.4 on each of them and compile my own XBMC via git (it is not necessary to compile your own.)
At this time I'd recommend going for something smaller and cheaper. I picked up an Ouya the other day for ~$100 and I've been playing with it, good results so far.
