[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
(2014-04-05, 02:27)zerojay Wrote: It's funny you mentioned these errors are fixed with a clean install as I had reinstalled XBMC and cleared out my entire previous XBMC configuration only two days ago.

I'm a software developer, I'm no idiot. No need to get personal here. You still haven't indicated which error in my log you are pointing to being a cause of corruption here either. This is also the first time I've seen you ask for a settings2.xml file since I began talking about things going wrong here today.

I'm going through another clean reinstall of everything. Back in a bit.

Never said you're an idiot... if you are in the tech industry then you understand the principles of tier support! I have to start with the basics... your log only has one error... it should be pretty clear.

It's not a normal exception... something is happening before pseudotv fully starts. i'm trying to track the problem down (if there is one). but I've seen cases of this problem happening because of poorly configured settings2 or corrupted files.

I can't see it being a miss or poor configuration of settings2 at least for our problem as there is not one there before beginning autotune and none is created after.

As for corrupt files. How can we track that down?

you wouldn't that's why you would clean install pseudotv... in case one of the files was damaged in the move..

I have another dumb question... why are you force closing pseudotv? why not let it be... perhaps your internet connection is slow... which is causing the parsing of ustvnow data to slow down your system??
because another reason you would get an error like the one in your log is by force closing pseudotv while it was running... and since I don't see any errors whats to say it failed...

btw did you check your ustvnow plugin settings to make sure it's configured?

also enable debugging in xbmc! google " xbmc loglevel wiki "and resend me a log... I see your logs is missing debugging info!

Here's what I just went through. Every single step. If it isn't listed here, I didn't do it. (LIbraries were not scraped and I added no media to keep this as clean as humanly possible.)

-== Full New Fresh Install of XBMC + Install USTVNow ==-
1 - Uninstalled XBMC.
2 - Removed the entire XBMC directory from AppData/Roaming/XBMC, making sure it was entirely empty.
3 - Redownloaded XBMC 12.3, installed.
4 - Redownloaded PseudoTV Live (commit 122c9fc15b824a3c53b82ccdb4a19278b3a22237)
5 - Redownloaded Luna's version of USTVNow.
6 - Started XBMC, System -> Settings -> Add-ons -> Install from zip file -> Install Luna's version of USTVNow, Quit XBMC.

-== Verify USTVNow Install, Install PseudoTV Live ==-
7 - Started XBMC, Videos -> Add-ons -> Right-Click on USTVNow, Add-on Settings.
8 - Put in my email and password for USTVNow account, left other options alone.
9 - Started USTVNow add-on -> Live -> Selected a channel to verify playback -> Closed USTVNow to return to XBMC's main screen.
10 - System -> Settings -> Add-ons -> Install from zip file -> Install PseudoTV Live (without -master on directory name), Common Plugin Cache gets installed as well as a dependency, Quit XBMC.
Logfile for this run: http://pastebin.com/wfbVPWSz

-== Verify PseudoTV Live Install, Donor Settings, Setup ==-
11 - Started XBMC, Programs -> Right-Click on PseudoTV Live -> Add-on Settings.
12 - Scroll to Misc. tab -> Enabled "Enable Donor Features" -> Entered username:password -> Hit "Activate/Update Donor Features", toast message says "Donor features not updated..."
13 - Hit the OK button on the PseudoTV Live settings box -> Right-click on PseudoTV Live -> Add-on Settings.
14 - Scroll to Misc. tab, verify my name and password is still listed and "Enable Donor Features" is still turned on, Hit "Activate/Update Donor Features", toast message now says "Activated Donor Features"
15 - Quit XBMC.
Logfile for this run: http://pastebin.com/Rn53uWt4

** Bug: XBMC will always report script.pseudotv.live-donordownload: Donor Enabled? = false if the user has not hit OK on the PseudoTV Live dialog box first as until the OK button has been hit, the state has not changed yet! Attempting to enable donor features will *always* fail unless you've hit the OK button to make the Donor Enabled flag change state! **

This is likely what you were seeing with frieten's log with enabled = false earlier.

-== Verify PseudoTV Live Install ==-
16 - Start up XBMC, Programs -> Right-Click on PseudoTV Live -> Add-on Settings
17 - Autotune tab -> Enable AutoTune -> Enable "Warning this will delete..."
18 - Enable "Find USTVNow" (and nothing else)
19 - Misc. Tab -> Enable debugging (for more info if we can get it)
20 - Hit OK on the PseudoTV Live settings.
21 - Start PseudoTV Live.
22 - Dialog box pops up, "Auto Tune, Adding USTVNow Channels", title bar reads "PseudoTV Live - 15%", never continues.
Logfile for this run (until force close): http://pastebin.com/xwpEnfec
Settings2.xml does not exist at the time of the force close and I never entered the channel editor.
Settings.xml has the following: http://pastebin.com/NYNFLAdY

XBMC does not freeze or crash as things like the screenshot function still work here. It's been 20 minutes since I started and it's never advanced. Hitting the cancel button does not terminate the script. XBMC must be force-closed.

If there is user error anywhere in this, please let me know and I've given you more than what you asked for. So, at least one bug verified to exist so far. I am on an 80/10 cable connection, so internet connection slowness isn't an issue and I verified that your version of the USTVNow plugin responds nice and quickly.

No pressure though. I'm fine if you take a look at this after the weekend or something. I'm in no rush and just want to help get it working.

We already figured out the problem with donor enabled always being false, unless you click okay... which is why install instructions tell you to enter setting and click okay!! don't know why you are bringing it up again, it's not exactly a bug! if you don't click okay how could it save your settings! if you don't save your settings how can a program run with your configuration??

as for your logs, ENABLE DEBUGGING!! google 'xbmc log level wiki' then run ustvnow autotune, then send me that log!

All it takes is one useful log!! one log that shows an error that I can fix... I honestly can't wait to find out what dumb little error is causing all this fuss!

if anyone is good at sniffing through html code... take a look at http://pluto.tv/
let me know if their channel playlists can be pulled (accessed or viewed).

It's pretty much pseudotv using youtube... I would like to *cough* borrow their playlists so I can build those channels in pseudo...

Here's the log, but there doesn't appear to be a smoking gun. It simply looks like the USTVNow plugin just isn't responding back to PseudoTV Live from what I can tell.
I also realized I had forgotten to update librtmp first, but I get the same results with it updated as well.

dumb question... you entered your username and password for ustvnow in ustvnows plugin settings?

honestly this ones got me stumped... my json query returns info... yours hangs... I have no idea why!

Yes, the correct info was in the plugin and I verified it both in the dialog box and by playing a channel. I'd paste a log here but the RTMP debug bloats it too much to use pastebin on.
From the log, when playing a channel in the USTVNow plugin alone...

Quote:22:57:12 T:14240 DEBUG: ustvnow: getting: http://lv2.ustvnow.com/iphone_login?user...d=censored

The forum is truncating the line, but the proper username/password pair was shown.

If you want me to try something else or maybe some test builds, let me know.
I am having the exact same issues as zerojay and have basically replicated the same thing step by step as he posted above in his detailed log. It is very odd that it gets stuck on 15% straight away also. It does not start at 0% it pops up straight on 15% scan. And yes the reason I force close is because it won't cancel and after letting it sit for over an hour on the 15% with no movement I figured it was a bug, which seems to be the case. I will also enable debugging and hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.

i downloaded your latest git, but where do i find "donordownload logs"? here is the xbmc log

http://pastebin.com/JHKEx4G3

i deleted everything and started over, but no matter what even when renaming the zip and removing -master it creates it in addons folder with -master on the end.

you need to download the git labeld "donordownload" it's the newest one...

@zensbert? logs?
@zerojay? logs?

i am having a issue with ustvnow auto tune to. im pretty sure i did everything right but autotune does not find any ustvnow channels for me.it is not freezing at 15% like other ppl posted it finishes scan then says no channels found so maybe i did some thing wrong some where idk. ill post logs and such tomorrow if you want luna but im tired as hell atm lol been trying for hours to get it working.

p.s before when you had autotune ustvnow it worked flawless for me but this time around i just can't get it working.
and manual adding ustvnow works perfect just not autotune for me.
I had problems in my version to update donor features, so i updated to the latest version.. donor works but now it aborts on an directory playlist of one channel and stops there, not creating further channels..

i'd really like to see that log, since you're getting a different result, thanks...
