[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution

Is there a limit on how many characters a "plot" can contain in order to be seen all at the tv overlay or epg window?Because I have some "big" plots and after about 150-200 characters they stop with "..." at the end and i can't see the whole plot even if i have autoscroll enabled.

screenshot example: http://tinypic.com/r/1zefl0g/8

Thank you

Yes, plots are limited to 300 characters. There is a character limit for m3u's, I have to make sure i'm under it when creating Pseudo playlists... No way to overcome this limitation... If you see "..." at the end of the work, you know I truncated the plot to fit.

Has anyone tried, or can someone help me, with iTBN. I have the plugin installed and it works outside of psltv, but I can't figure out how to get Recent videos to work in PSLTV.

Thanks for your advice.

what is iTBN?
(2014-04-28, 17:59)scilz Wrote: what is iTBN?
It'a a video addon under the official xbmc.org-Addons
::Update::

I'm completely reworking the EPG/Overlay for Pseudotv live in-order to allow advanced GUI features. Mainly icons displayed in the EPG long with the Show titles. This is in perpetration for my DVR/PVR recording features "Coming Soon".

I may be in the dark for awhile, I will pop my head up once and awhile... but for now updates and support will be on hold...

Also in the works is a context menu option to add a link (ie. file, folder, source, plugin, etc) directly to a Pseudotv channel... more info to come...

Hey it looks like you did a pretty sweet self edit to Aurora. Can you pm me a link to your Dropbox file of your edited overlay? It'll definitely save me some time since it looks like you did it right. I may steal that code and add the plot info to the live tv overlay for the official version.

Once that box opens, you can't get back to pseudo epg, or change channels. It just loads the standard XBMC OSD

Any plugin that steals focus away for Pseudotv is deemed incompatible.
Be careful what plugins you mention, the one you brought up is banned from discussion on this forum.

That's a shame. Do you know of any other way to stop XBMC opening dialogue boxes like that? I've checked with a few sources, but they're saying that it's XBMC that's opening them, not the add-on (which I think is a little odd, I though the add-on would need to tell XBMC to display the message in the first place.

Also are there any other legit streaming add-ons that also steal away focus? Maybe I can find the code responsible by comparing them, see if I can disable them manually,

Thanks

Depends on what you are referring too... if your talking about the "failed to play" or "loading error" prompt, that's xbmc can't do anything about it...
if it's a prompt to select a source, or file, blah blah it's the plugin... You can always right the plugin developer and ask them to include an option to disable prompts or to add automation so that prompts don't occur.

Out of curiosity can you take a screenshot to the problem that your having?

I'm removing the option of having a color or white channel bug (ie. channel logo on the bottom corner of screen). I'm instead going to have PTVL convert whatever channel logo you have to a white transparent one automatically.(thanks steveb)

So instead of ABC.png and ABC_c.png, it will go back to just ABC.png, with an option in settings to disable the logo in the EPG if you prefer the channel name over a logo. I'm also going to be adding a few "packages" to download in settings which will include some starter stuff (channel logos, bumpers).

As mentioned above i'm also completely reworking genre colors, and all overlays to get ready for PVR features which will have "rec" indicators...

I think I remember playing with that plugin, it's the plugin that is causing the problem... and it may not be easily fixable depending on how the dev wrote his plugin.
You would need to take it up with them... good luck Wink

Haha, yea, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Big Grin
Actually, before I found this add-on, I was playing around with Dixie TV Guide, I managed to get streams working within Dixie, only I couldn't add channels manually (without doing some major work on it), I just tried again now, from what I can tell, Dixie seems to pass the video streams back to the default player (where pressing return brings you OSD, pressing stop (x) returns you to the EPG), but it doesn't interfere or lose focus as such. I was wondering if that's possible with PSTV?

Maybe an option to use the default player, obviously I don't think you can change channel by pressing the Up/Down, but you can press Backspace and it'll return to the EPG, while still playing the stream on the top right, still giving you control to scroll through the EPG and select another stream/video

Apples and oranges...

My VHS tape plays fine in the VCR, if I can only make it fit my DVD player... it should play! Big GrinTongue
