I thought that this was an issue of cache(when enabled).Am I wrong?

There is, but his log doesn't have debugging so I dont' know if thats the issue...

btw common cache has the fix, don't know why it's not being pushed...

Debug is on 3, hope this will help

I am trying to determine how PTVL handles episode runtime (from local NFO) when there are multiple episodes per file. Is it worth it to manually add the runtime for each episode or will PTVL just play the entire file regardless?

Thanks in advance

Dragoonkain

multiple episodes per strm should only be used for redundancy, two links to the same show... because pseudotv live will only use the first working link found...

if it's a tvshow or movie it's best to scrape the strms with xbmc like you would local media...

PseudoTV Live will try to get the duration from the nfo first, if it can't find it... it parses xbmc's library for the runtime, if not found it default to 3600 seconds runtime.

Appreciate the answer! Thanks Lunatixz
I'm a bit stuck with livetv autotuning using the nextpvr backend.

I've got a UK xmltv file but i'm a bit confused to why it's not working it mentions in the guide "XMLTV.xml file with matching "ZAP2it" ID's" what am i matching the zap2it id's to?

e.g. I have this is my xmltv:

<channel id="UK_RT_98">
<display-name lang="en">BBC1 North West</display-name>
</channel>

and in nextpvr/xbmc I have:

channel 101 (in nextpvr) channel 1 (in xbmc)
BBC1 North West : C:\XBMC\NextPvr\data.xml

all the xmltv data shows up in xbmc.

Am I missing something with the zapit ids?

channel id needs to be in the settings2 configuration look at post 2
display-name needs to be the name of the channel in NextPVR, enter nextpvrs settings and rename channel to display-name then make sure the pvr settings is set to use backend names and numbers...

alrighty, I've setup nextpvr to the same display-name in the xml, set xbmc to use the backend names/numbers, reset pvr and epg database.

I know the channel id has to be set e.g. <setting id="Channel_1_1" value="UK_RT_98" /> if i was setting manually. I'm trying the autotune though and still not picking anything up.

If the channel id in the xml is "UK_RT_98" would i have to reset my channel number to match or anything related to that id?
Well, I am at a loss. I am getting script error when trying to run this on Gothom. I ended up installing it on my laptop and my desktop and it works fine. For some reason on my HTPC, and only this computer, I get a script error.

Sorry man, I can picture you at the computer cussing at the computer looking at lines of code. That was me! I sucked at it and had an epiphany. BTW, EPG lag happens going through my music library. I'm an amateur DJ/Producer so I have every type of genre out there and each in their own folder. So I have about 30 channels of my library music. The EPG lags and then becomes unresponsive trekking through these channels.
Does the music channels even work? last I tested them they generated the genre channels, but didn't fill them...

I'm working on an epg speed tweak for the next update... problem is when a channel has to many little videos or media... xbmc has to draw each box which can tax the system when added to all the other channels you have.

Music Genres work beautifully.

Too much media could be the case. An average length of any song is about 2-3 minutes in duration. That's plenty for XBMC to draw on. There's 30 channels of this. I'm sure a normal person would just have just a few channels of music genres as I think that what it was meant for.

So, if I unmark "Find Music Genres", does that just pool all my music files into one channel or does it skip all my music files all together? I can test for that but going through my PTVL setup takes forever.

Wait...are you saying you actually have Music Genre based channels?!! Not music video channels but actual channels based off of Mp3's? I was under the impression Music Genre channels don't work. At least in my experience Ptvl will auto tune music genre channels but it won't build them.

its working!
should i leave it that way?
enable back after a fix?
will the loading be slower?

thanks
I have never ever ever ever been able to run psuedotv live. I get a script failure anytime I run it. I have setup tons of xbmc systems, psuedotv has never run. I have tried various linux and windows platorms without success. Psuedotv live has never worked on fresh xbmc install. The author needs to be testing for that, and for over a year hasn't. Don't know why.

I figured I would post my latest gotham install error to see if anyone has any clue what to do. The internet sure as heck doesn't have any solutions. Forum search is useless.

Yep, it works for me. Even my sound samples folders have channels! Either that or Luna is getting these genres from somewhere where each file identifies the track as mp3 and matches what's in my folders. Example is My Turntablism channel has all my DJ Q-Bert collection play in alphabetical order of how it is sorted in my folder. It's kind of hard for me to check because as I speak my EPG has become unresponsive and I can't check further than one or two channels deep into these music channels that I have.

Edit: I think it goes off a playlist because certain music genre channels are playing in that certain order.

My EPG became unresponsive so I just pressed "I" for info and a playlist came up behind it. I can't close the EPG no matter what! Notice that all the tracks on this channel are the same to my own collection.

Edit: Confirmed 100%! Lol One of my produced tracks is playing haha! How is that for ya? My music is playing on a channel!

Maybe my code wasn't so bad? Something in Gotham fixed it?

I don't have music scrape into XBMC so my tests are limited...

Did it work for u?

Nah it still just tunes the channel but doesn't actually build it. For instance it will say it's building a channel of rock songs and that's there's 102 files added but when PTVL launches it won't be there. I have no idea why it works for Pharm and no one else but this the feature I've been wanting forever for PTVL so hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.
