I have only one issue. My Chomebox is setup to go into S3 sleep after 15 minutes of idle. If I turn off the TV it is connected to before the Chromebox sleeps, then I will have no audio when I resume. I had the same issue with an Intel Celeron 847 board I was using before this, and to fix it I had to add a script mentioned here:

This was with OpenElec 3.x, but I guess this problem persists in 4.x as well? I will try this and see if it fixes the audio.

I'm not sure that fix is valid for OpenELEC 4.x - there's just too much different between 3.x and 4.x. I don't suppose it would hurt to try though. If it doesn't work, you'll likely get the best support in the OpenELEC IRC channel.

If your set supports it (mine does, Panny VT50), you can set the color range to auto, leave the intel driver setting on Automatic (default), and set XBMC to full range (default) and everything will look like it should

my blacks were ok the problem was the banding which was clearly visible on the greyscale ramp test pattern.

your post had me wanting to do a full set of testing as there seem to be quite a few of us with panny plasmas (RIP) and intel hardware. this is based on the avsforum test patterns for black clipping (basic settings\1-black clipping.mp4) and the grey scale ramp (misc patters\1-greyscale ramp.mp4). in every instance my panasonic vt50 detected the color range (menu > picture > hdmi settings > hdmi/dvi rgb range) as limited (or as they call it standard). in no instance did it detect it as full range (or as they call it non-standard).

tl;dr: the only combination that produced proper black clipping and a smooth greyscale ramp was setting xrandr to full and enabling the 16-235 xbmc setting. and according to lmyllari and others that know better than me BTB and WTW are untouched.

I tried followed all of the instructions, but now my chromebox reboots with the following message:
"SeaBIOS (version rel-1.7.5-9-ge0678e9-20140709-MattDevo)

Booting from Hard Disk...

And there is nothing I can do except reboot it. I tried factory reset with the reset button, but it ignores it. I tried pressing ESC to get to the boot menu, tried pressing CTRL-D, and still nothing. Any suggestions?

Assume you ran the setup for a standalone, and are now trying to boot a USB stick to install your OS? Do you get the 'PRess ESC for boot menu' text before it tries to boot the internal HDD?

did you perform a factory reset before running the dual boot setup? Either way, you should still be able to boot to ChromeOS or use the recovery option

did you use option 5 (Standalone setup / coreboot firmware install) of the setup script? that's pretty much the only thing that would cause the recovery button to not work

no, it just means you need to install OpenELEC from a USB stick, like everyone else running a standalone setup

you can either download OpenELEC from their website, or if you want the ability to wake from suspend using a keyboard/mouse/IR remote, download my custom build from the link on the wiki. Follow the instructions for a standalone setup from the OP.

i have a U2312HM on my pc but haven't hooked up to test. in the haswell nuc thread lmyllari mentioned something about infoframes (over my head) which could be why the different xrandr settings have no effect while hooked up to your monitor, not sure. mainly i was just posting so that there was some data on the different settings affected the image on panasonic tvs. it may or may not be accurate for samsung tvs and likely is not accurate for pc monitors.

actually, I'm an idiot, my monitor is hooked up to DP1, not HDMI1.

Regardless, with the 2408, I can either have a smooth ramp (XBMC: limited) or a proper black level of 16 (XBMC: not limited), but not both. xrandr Automatic defaults to Full; setting it to Limited 16:235 completely destroys my blacks (ie, there are none)
