[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
Hi just added your addon to my xbmc after lurking here for a few months Smile And I have to say This is possible the greatest addon for xbmc.

I have a few questions:

1. Whenever I turn on trailers my xbmc freezes, Think i rad somewhere this is a donor feature only?

2. And I also wanted to have adds (yea i know im sick) It works when i get them from the internet/youtube boit not my local folder. Files are mp4 is that wrong format?

3. I see That u have FTV channels included but i cant get it to work Sad How can i make it work ?

4. Is it possible that one channel an have both drama and comedy series ? I have a bounch of channels (drama / comedy / thriller , etc) whats the best way to get more diversity?

5. I see that u have Playon as a sponsor, Is this geoblocked? And What quality are the channels there ?

6. Yesterday listing for USTV channel worked perfectly but today it does not show anything only check your xml file, how can i Fix This ?

Hope you have time to answer my questions

regards from Norway Smile

I can answer #4 and #6

4. Yes, you can have a channel setup like this. You need to create a smart playlist in XBMC (Videos->Play List->New Smart Playlist) and configure your playlist to have whatever setup/genres you like. Save that playlist. In Channel Configuration of PseudoTV, add a channel type of Custom Playlist and select your playlist

6. PseudoTV by default pulls the USTV xmltv file (the EPG data) from a server that the developer has setup. The file on that server is out of date. That's as far as I've gotten so far though LOL. Looks like there's a way to create my own XML file and have PseudoTV use that instead, but I'm struggling to get that working. I have a zap2it account configured for USTVNOW, I've created a TitanTV account as well. I've tried mc2xml, but I can't figure out how to use it properly to filter the channels down, match channel names etc. Once I have that, I don't know how to get PseudoTV to use my file instead.

I'd love to figure out the second half of #6 because it also helps the dev by taking some load off of his server.

1. Only internet trailers is for donors only... the rest is for everyone.
2. I would need to see a log.
3. FTV is going through a lot of changes with their live feeds, but it works by you opening the f.t.v plugin and favoriting movies or streams. Auto tune uses the files found in f.t.v favorites and tries to pair them with EPG data if available.
4. Yes smart playlist channel
5. I don't know...
6. Server issues with hosting xmltv data, I wrote code to allow the channel to build without epg data... so EPG data may come and go till I get things straightened out...

Thanks alot for helping outSmile

Can't wait to get the donor stuff Smile

Since My last post I have been playing around with different settings. (So much to learn..)

I just manged to get super fav to work. And Geoblock was easy to remove with a dns service .

Somehow the adds runs fine between the shows now, dunno what I did , but it works .

But so far I haven't gotten FTV to work, and only thing pstv will pull from Playon seams to be the hulu stuff ,

I'm gonna mess around some more. When I can get it to build channels from Playon , FTV and 1chan as well as trailers it will be golden.

What excactly should I favorite in FTV a channel or single Items?

Edit:

Did USTV just stop working. Today it does not get generated no matter what i try Sad
and one final question would you consider adding a subtitle options ?
Hey Luna!

Any idea why text formatting doesn't work, and/or when you'll be able to address it? Both in the path itself and in plugin exclusions, if a path/folder has formatting, it's not reading it. For example, this path is in my settings2.xml:

plugin://plugin.video.cartoon/.Top Cartoon

...but because ".Top Cartoon" is colored, my PTVL doesn't parse it. So I have a blank channel. Same goes for exclusions, too.

I've added things to favourites and used the text formatting presented in the favourites.xml file, but that doesn't seem to work either. Ideas? I know you said in the community listing that some tags were no longer necessary, but I don't know what all that encompasses. I know [NEGATIVE SQUARED LATIN CAPITAL LETTER B][/B] tags are now working fine (such as in the "- Play All" exclusion for Youtube Billboard), but I don't know how to format Cartoon's ".Top Cartoon" to make it read right.

Thanks!

::EDIT::
To clarify, using the [NEGATIVE SQUARED LATIN CAPITAL LETTER B] tags does work, but not including them doesn't. So I have to include them. But in the case of color-formatted text like .Top Cartoon, it doesn't work with or without formatting.

This was already fixed Smile
Might be in development branch? don't remember if I pushed the change yet...

B4 you had to include all extra strings (colors, bold, etc) but now you don't...

PS please remove the reference to the plugin... it's a banned plugin Smile

Crap! Will do...thnx.

And I'm using the currently published dev branch...I'll see if your next push fixes it up. Smile
@Lunatixz I'm still having issues with my channels getting wiped out. First thing this morning when I turned on PTVL it asked if i wanted to auto configured my channels I allowed it after running PTVL and restarting the same thing happened again, I have provided both the old and the new log. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5wesor5pyly0g...OLIRa?dl=0

What is disable?
  • Enhanced Guide Data (AKA Find Missing Data), Disabled
    Media Limit = 50
    Art Service, Disabled
    Show Season/Episode as S00E00, Disabled
    Show Extra EPG Info, Disabled
    Use Unaltered Channel Bug, True
    Sync XMLTV Service, Disabled
    XMLTV Folder Location, None*
    Sickbeard/CouchPotato, Disabled
* (XMLTV Parsing is slow because low power systems can't handle heavy regex parsing, Nulling the folder will allow PTVL to build LiveTV Channel just without EPG data).

Losing EPG? Oh man.
I am fine with loosing everything else but not so sure about epg. I would rather have an option to update epg anytime of my choosing. Like a scheduler or something. That way I can update my xml file once a week and schedule pseudo to update the epg every sunday morning at 4:30 AM when it isn't being used. It can take two decades to update and I would not care since I most likely would be sleeping or up feeding the baby and dreaming about sleep . Big Grin
If anyone wants to try my fork of the PseudoTV Manager for PseudoTVLive, you can download it here:

https://github.com/peppy6582/PseudoTVLive_Manager

I have gotten these types working so far:
LiveTV
InternetTV
Youtube
RSS

PM me with issues from THOSE TYPES ONLY.

Thanks

Yes. I have updated it:

I hope this one works. I have uninstalled EVERYTHING, and reinstalled that one from scratch.

If PTVL's, XML EPG, are breaks down, it kind of alienates all the low end computers users, the application was designed for. I'd like to see the whole of XBMC / OpenELEC, running on x86 thin clients. We can't all dedicate high end core systems, just to watch TV.
So, if we're going to lose EPG, it likely will be a short absents.
Sorry everyone. I am not very good with github yet:

https://github.com/peppy6582/PseudoTVLiv...anager.zip

Try this one

Also, the first time you try to generate the settings file, it won't work. Just close out the application, and try it again, and it should.

Thanks
